This is our fourth time staying at the Seashell Motel and we will continue to stay here every time we visit Naples. On previous stays we were located on the first floor in the lower numbered rooms. This time we booked the last available room, on the second floor. The king room was very large, with a full sized refrigerator, microwave, flat screen TV and a terrace overlooking the pool. I look for three things in a hotel/motel: comfortable mattress, clean room and hot water. All three were met. The cleaning staff did a nice job in the room and the towels were a nice size and absorbent. The air conditioner worked very well and wasn't real noisy, which is important for a good night's sleep. Office staff were very professional and customer service oriented. Although the facility is old, the rooms have been updated and comfortable. If you are looking for a lower cost motel close to downtown Naples, with great restaurants within walking distance, the Seashell Motel is the answer.

The wife and I have tried about a dozen places to stay in Naples, what's one more. First impressions, 60's style motel that needs a lot of TLC. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The motel reminded me of a place my Mom & Dad stayed when I was a kid while visiting Florida for the first time 50 years ago. There's a screen room that looks like a place to sit and hang out across from the office with the screens torn out. Not a good first impression. The Staff member advised us that we could park on the north side of the building in front of our room. I thought that's great. Then she advised that if the door is locked the key will not open the dead bolt just the door lock. You would have to walk around the building to the back door and unlock it there to get in The dead bolt only locks from the inside. Sure enough that's what we had to do. One thing that bothered me was that even though we had a new door on the front the space between the frame and the door would make it easy to pry the door open. After looking at the other doors close to us I found the same issues but these doors looked like the original doors as they were cracked or split and there were old pry marks around the lock area. It made me a bit apprehensive about wanting to stay. So we got inside to find the room to be a good size and clean. What was odd was that to turn on the ceiling fan you had to make sure that the switch across the room was on because if you tried the switch on the other side of the room it wouldn't work. Drove me crazy until I figured it out, poor wiring. The wall A/C unit was a bit loud and the noise took some time to get use to before falling asleep. So we retired for the night after a long day. Well...... The back door that leads to the pool area has an outside light in the hall that you have no control over and is on all night long. The back door also has a glass window. Even though there is a thin curtain over the window the light is very bright and aluminates the entire room. I had to take a towel and a pair of shorts to cover the window enough to be able to fall asleep. On a positive note; the motel is centrally located in the downtown area and walking distance to 5th Ave. I wish I had better things to say about the place. But I believe its seen its days. I don't ever see myself coming back. Hey but you decide. Enjoy!

Room tip: Try to get a second floor room as they have larger balconies to sit out on.

Stayed here for 3 nights and found the rooms to be basic but what do you expect for a two star motel. The rooms were very clean which is what I base everything on with an excellent shower and new towels everyday. As mentioned before the air con is noisy but we just switched it off at night.

Never used the pool so can’t comment but Naples Pier and beach is a 5 min car journey away.

This motel is in a good location with it only being a ten minute walk from many restaurants and pubs.

The only thing I could negatively comment on is no safe deposit boxes which meant that every time we went out we had to take all our valuables but apart from that we enjoyed our stay.
