This was such a great experience, and Captain Candace and Hope were so much fun and super knowledgeable! We saw so many fish at the reef spot they took us to, some even saw nurse sharks and turtles! They made sure we were safe the whole time, and had pool noodles ready for those that were a little more nervous about the water! They had drinks and snacks on board, played great music, and pointed out different wildlife along the way!
Such a great snorkeling trip! The staff was incredibly fun and knowledgeable. They were engaging, informative and professional. Rob (captain) and Hope (mate) were terrific! At first I was worried that one stop wouldn’t be enough variety. I was wrong! The reef had tons of different places to swim. They even told us there was a locally famous sea turtle who would probably show up, and it did! The cooler of beer was a refreshing way to spend the ride back to the harbor. Can’t recommend enough!!
Family of four and reserved the afternoon snorkel trip. Unfortunately Hurricane Debby created some nearby storms so our water was a little too choppy for snorkeling. Instead, Captain Joe and Jesse brought us to Captain Pips private island. We still had a chance to snorkel a little and Jesse found 3 hermit crabs, so we got a good race in!
We still had the option of canceling with a refund, but our hosts made the best of the situation and gave us an awesome trip!
Husband and I took a long weekend to Marathon from Venice, FL. This was our first time staying at Captain Pip's. We arrived on Friday and left on Sunday AM! We had the best time..parked the truck on Friday and never drove it again until it was time to go home. We rented a boat on Saturday, Wild Child, and had a lot of fun, except for Mother Nature making us come in early with "gale force winds and rain"!!! The pool was awesome...Porkey's restaurant is super close - excellent food and drink - we ate there both Friday and Saturday night. You can drink and walk back to your room! There is a Starbucks for breakfast and coffee right there and the check-in office is a little store. Rooms were super clean and the A/C worked great. The only "down" side is we could hear the neighbors next door...the walls are relatively thin. That did not bother us, in fact there is an adjoining door that would be perfect for friends or family!!! Staff was super friendly and helpful. There is a beautiful putt putt golf in front that we played on Saturday night. We stayed in Bonefish Room - there was a microwave, a decent size refrigerator and toaster. Plenty of towels plus 4 beach towels and they also provided a cooler! I would highly recommend Captain Pip's for a down to earth place to stay!!!
We booked a snorkeling trip with Captain pips for me and my two kids. Our guide Rob was excellent at giving us great information about the wildlife and the history of the reef. We had plenty of time to explore the reef on our own. I would recommend to anyone looking for a snorkel trip in the keys.
