Wonderful Key West Inn

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 Dec 2008
My husband and I were looking for a relatively centrally located inn for our second trip to Key West. We chose the Key West Harbor Inn based on the reviews on Trip Advisor and we could not be more pleased.

We stayed in the Antigua Room located right off the pool area. The room was great: clean and comfortable. It had a small sink, fridge and coffee pot. The bathroom was a little small, but was otherwise quite adequate.

Each day started out with a breakfast buffet which included an assortment of breads, bagels, pasteries, fruits, yogurts, cereals, juices, and great coffee, all provided by the Inn.

Each afternoon the Inn hosted a free happy hour between 4:30 and 5:30, providing refreshing cocktails. Try the rum punch!:)

The Inn is around 2 blocks from Duval Street, so it's easily accessable to all the hot spots in KW.

The pool was heated and wonderfully inviting, especially after a long day walking around town. What a tough week!;)

If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, this is the place. The staff at the Inn was very friendly and provided great tips. There was always someone on the grounds grooming and sweeping, making sure everything was in perfect shape.

We plan on returning to KW and will definitely look into the Key West Harbor Inn again!

Having wanted to visit Key West in college, I went there and had a great experience back in the late 70's. I didn't know what to expect this time since now I have a girlfriend and hoped that I would recreate the fun time i had in my younger years. Choosing a bed and breakfast seemed to me the logical way to go since both my girlfriendand I wanted to experiece that homy and pleasureable feeling you can only obtain in a friendly environment. Upon arriving at our destination we were greeted by Tracy , who turned out to be a gracious host. She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable in our new sorroundings. Our room at harbour Inn was meticulous in every respect. We especially enjoyed the breakfast and Happy hour were we made many friends. I would highly recommend Harbor Inn as a destination of choice for those that are discernable and enjoy being pampered to the utmost..

Stayed 2 nights November 24/08. Nice quiet well situated B&B. Secure gated properety. Small swimming pool with lots of chairs and lounges. Breakfast was continental style with cereal, yogurt, fruits, bagels and toast available to 10:30 but very flexible for late risers. The Inn is located 1/2 a block away from the yacht dock in old town and only four blocks from Sloppy Joes Bar on Duval Street. Tracy and her staff run a good operation and we will recommend the Ke y West Harbour Inn. Though our room was small it was the last one available when we booked. Try arrive before 5pm for ease in checking in as the entrance gate is locked and Tracy lives off site. Secure wireless on site.

We were excited to stay here as it was the #1 rated Key West B&B on tripadvisor. I've stayed previously at the Key West B&B (aka the Popular House), Casa 325 on Duval, and the Bottle Inn. However, overall we were disappointed in the quality of the place and the breakfasts given the price we paid, and compared with some of the other B&B's we've stayed at in Key West and elsewhere.

The location is by far the best attribute, right near the harbor and 2 of my fav restaurants-- Turtle Kraal's and Schooner's Wharf, and an easy walk to Duval and Mallory Square. Also right across from Kermit's Key Lime shop, can't beat that!

The building and grounds are cute enough and typical Key West style, and the pool was nice. However, our room left much to be desired. It wasn't dirty or anything, but felt very old and worn. It was quite dark even with the 2 old lamps on, and it was damp and faintly smelled of mildew throughout our stay even with the AC running. (the tissues and tp for instance felt damp!). The bathroom was ok, the shower felt old and a bit like a dorm shower, and there were a few random holes in the walls there. It was great that there was a refrigerator in the room though, and an overhead fan. THere were doors to a porch upstairs from our room, but oddly the only curtains covering the glass on the doors were extremely sheer white ones, and the porch lights stayed on all night. I slept fine despite that, but I could see the bright light bothering some people. The bed was ok but a bit too soft for me.

Finally, breakfasts had plenty of selections of simple things (toast, bagels, fruit, donuts), but it was all store bought and was more along the lines of the breakfasts we get when staying at La Quinta for example, rather than some of the breakfasts we've gotten at nice B&B's.

Overall it was fine, but well below expectations, and I'd probably stay at the Popular House or Casa 325 or elsewhere next time. I'd rate it 2.5 stars if given the option.

This is the 4th or 5th time we have stayed at the Harbor Inn. We have stayed at the Pier House and the Casa Marina in other visits to Key west as well. So we are seasoned Key West visitors.

We love the Harbor Inn and that is why we keep coming back. The managment continues to try to upgrade the property and does a nice job of making your feel welcome. Tracy and Eva are terrific. I was sorry not to see Leonardo this visit but understand you cannot be in two places at once.

The heated pool was very nice to relax in or beat a hangover.
The breakfasts are nice and comfortable and the other guests are pleasant to visit with after a hard night on the town.

The location of the Harbor Inn is terrific. 100 yards from the Conch Republic and a short two block walk to Duval.

By the way we always rent bikes and the bike rental at the Harbor inn is more expensive but they have better bikes.

Very Charming

My wife and I stayed at this gem from Oct 15 through Oct 18 and found it to be one of the most beautiful places we ever stayed at.
It is like a tropical paradise, and the location is second to none, you are out of the way but yet only 2 blocks from duvall st. The room we stayed in ( Martinique ) was absolutely fabulous.
We have already decided that we will never stay anywhere else on key west again other than KW Harbor Inn.
