Nothing special really. Looks run down and it was just something to tick of the sight seeing list. Looked good at night with the pier lit up.

Took a very short trip here to start my Route 66 journey.

It was early morning so the pier was pretty much shut. It seems to serve as a great hub for the beach and parking is fair at $13.

Plenty to do on the pier and worth a trip for the history of it.

For some reason, Santa Monica always has a great importance for the visitors. Everybody would like to step by around Santa Monica Pier and actually it worths. Feeling the breeze, walking along the way, looking to the ocean and having some fun.. all these are provided by this place. It is so easy to walk, usually there are some personal shows. A lot of place to buy magnets and etc.

Was an interesting place to see, more children orientated. It was also cold the day we went. We had fun overall

Rushed over at about 645pm (sunset was about 725pm), traffic & parking looked to be a nightmare but thankfully we managed to get parking at the pier itself.

Headed onto the pier to take photos on the beautiful sunset, of course there were hordes of tourists but you’d be able to get your own sunset photos in peace nonetheless.

Great colours & setting for sunset.
