Room was not ready even after the scheduled 4pm check-in time and the check out billing was a mess as credit card charges were incorrect. Jonathan assisted to correct the situation on check-out but I still got charged twice by my bank. I called back the hotel to reverse the other charge but haven't heard back, and so far I've only reached the voicemail.
Key card did not worked the first time so it needed re-validation at front desk. I was told that there was a trick to rotate up, rotate down, then push to open the door, but why bother with the trick? If that is the case, they should have addressed it with consideration that a simple knob turn (without any trick) should be sufficient to open the door. There were other guests also with room keys not working at that time of check-in and was told of the so-called trick.
The AC system was not working and so the maintenance/engineer staff was called to assist but no luck in fixing. He offered a tower fan which is a ridiculously terrible idea that won't be helpful on a hot LA weather. He said that no rooms were available as they are fully booked, but yet when we went to the front desk and I was eventually given another room immediately. Sounds like engineering and front desk have an idea beforehand that the room had an AC issue and...Room was not ready even after the scheduled 4pm check-in time and the check out billing was a mess as credit card charges were incorrect. Evening receptions were ok but snacks are limited and some are stale already.
Parking attendant staff were courteous and helpful - which is a different company from hotel staff.
In fairness, many of the front desk staff were also helpful.
Hot breakfast are good, dining area looks good, dining staff are courteous.
Room blankets appeared not to be cleaned or replaced, ripped bed coverings, old hair on pillows and beds, no spare bath tissue. Housekeeping staff were not too engaging with guest and I guess just wanted to get the fix done and get away.
If you request for towels or toiletries, it will take some time to arrive than usual and surprisingly was delivered by Security staff - which I don't believe is their job.
Room service did not happen even after making numerous request.
Though we stayed here before which was pleasant, but the recent stay did not live up to my previous experience.
The recent stay had many unpleasant experiences that will make me think twice to stay at this hotel again.More
