Madonna Inn is worth a visit as a tourist attraction, it has taken “romantic” decoration to the extreme.
It attract guests who want to celebrate on guests on a romantic getaway, which is a bad combination with the paper-thin walls. We could hear everything that happened in the neighbors room and they had a large group gathering until 2:30 at night, followed by very loud “activities” in bed. These “activities” took place in the afternoon, at night and in the morning. We got very little sleep that night and I am happy that we did not have to explain to children what was happening next door.

On top of that, prices are too high, so I can not recommend this as a hotel, but maybe as a place for a dinner just to enjoy the decorations.

Service is wonderful and the ambiance is very unique. And dont forget to try the PINK CAKE at the restaurant, it is moist ♡ Take a walk at the entire grounds, take pictures and dont forget the pink cow outside. Pay a visit at those 1 of a kind sleeping rooms.

First time at the Madonna Inn. We stayed in the Traveler's Suite and had a great time. The room was a trip (with a giant centerpiece couch that looked like something out of Alice In Wonderland); we enjoyed the fireplace; the bathroom was beautiful and luxurious; the king beds were comfy. The whole place is a spectacle like all the other reviewers have said. Gawdy and kitchy but high-quality and well done down to the details. It's ultimately just a fun place to visit and will leave you with a memorable experience. The gardens/landscaping are lovely, and my family had a wonderful time enjoying the heated pool and hot-tubs and surrounding views and man-made waterfalls.

Dinner was a MAJOR disappointment. On a plus note, the dining room is marvelous (including the grand centerpiece tree with giant flowers and cherubs hanging from the ceiling) and the service was great. But it was the most overpriced meal I've ever had. Entrees are $30 minimum, with many offerings in the $50 - $100 range. Maybe you could argue this is ok if the food was fantastic (but only 'maybe', as I've eaten in many very fine restaurants where most entrees are < $30), but the food is mediocre at best. I had pork chops ($30). The meat was well prepared and tasty, but not amazing, and the sides consisted of bland steamed veggies (possibly frozen) and your standard baked potato or rice pilaf. My wife had the halibut ($40), which was quite poorly done (overcooked and not the best quality meat) and believe or not, it was served with tartar sauce. Honestly, the food quality was similar to eating at a Denny's or something. Just know that if you eat in the steakhouse, you will be paying for the experience, not the food. You'll be better off just ordering a drink and appetizer (so as to experience the very nice dining room and thus complete your Madonna Inn experience) but then eat the rest of your dinner elsewhere. Note, they do have a "cafe" on site which is much more reasonably priced (< $20) for burgers, sandwiches, etc.

Madonna inn has gone down hill fast. We have stayed here a number of times in the past and this last time had a really bad experience. Unfortunately there was a number of things wrong.
1) we planned a birthday meal that wasn’t acknowledged at all, despite the fact we had reminded them twice.
2) my elderly grandparents ordered a starter to share in that they don’t eat very much. And we said this to our waiter. They ordered a steak salad and this came out huge. They barely touched it and it was a massive waste, we complained to the receptionist on check out and she was horrified but the manager did nothing about it and didn’t care.
3) the rooms weren’t very clean there was a bundle of hair and lipstick left on a mug in my parents room.

Really disappointed in Madonna as their lovely settting and pool is still amazing. Unfortunately the service and lack of care for their guests just isn’t there anymore.

Stopped by the Madonna Inn on our way from Santa Barbara to San Francisco. It was the perfect little stop off the highway. We got a drink and some lite bites and visited the gift shop for some fun post cards with photos of the rooms. And yes, us two women actually went in to the men's restroom downstairs to view the gloryness that is the waterfall urinal. The bartender told us that more women go in there than men, and I can see why! It's quite hilarious, but ladies, of course it's smelly. Go to the very pink ladies room after and freshen up. I agree that it definitely needs a few updates. But that is to be expected and it honestly just adds to the charm. You shouldn't expect perfection. You're there for the very pink and kitschy experience that is the Madonna Inn.

Also- Tesla drivers: This is a MUST charging stop. Just do yourself a favor and use that hour of charging to grab a drink or a mildly expensive steak lunch/dinner.
