We traveled to LA for a sports camp, and originally made a reservation at a different Marriott property (Glendale Residence Inn). When we arrive at the 1st hotel, we were told they did not have our room (oversold), and we were simply told to look for reservations elsewhere (?!). We booked through Marriott app at the next, closest available hotel (the Courtyard Pasadena), but obviously that brings a very high rate booking last minute. But we were told by first hotel we had no choice (?!). Very frustrating/poor service from 1st hotel.
When we arrived at Courtyard Pasadena, we were tired/frustrated but were fortunate to meet Jeanine at the front desk. Jeanine noted immediately that our rate was "very high." When I explained why we had just made the reservation, she immediately did everything she could to welcome us, reduced our rate, and made us feel welcome (very different from Glendale Residence Inn). Our stay has been great. Every time we've asked for a service (towels, sheets, etc.), we received it within 5 minutes and a follow-up call from front desk (twice Jeanine) to make sure we were good. This hotel went extra mile for us and Jeanine saved our trip. Can't thank her enough.
Room was nice/perfect for our needs. Breakfast very good. Nice pool. Loation close to Colorado St./old town Pasadena is perfect. Thank you very much to Jeanine and staff for rescuing our trip.
