Worst stay ever. Hotel is completely under renovation and no way to get to your room without going through areas being worked on. This means paint in the air, glue fumes from new carpeting, and long walks. While we were put in a new room, the shower did not work correctly so we ended up with a cold shower the first night. The maintenance man told us we were not the first to experience this situation. We could not believe they were keeping the hotel open during this time. We felt sorry for all of the staff that had to be apologetic.

Despite the reconstruction of the hotel, the staff went well above and beyond to make are 3 night stay the best in Pasadena, Jeneen(sp?) at the front desk was AWESOME!!. We arrived in Pasadena from LAX apx 10:30am and were able to do an early check in, and are flight out of LAX was not until midnight a couple of days later, we wanted to do some more exploring so Jeneen (sp?) aloud our group to do a very late check out so that we wouldn't have to carry are luggage around town and into LA. Excellent customer service!!, Breakfast was great and filling all three days we were there, the pool was reopened the same day we arrived, so extra bonus!, the doormen were kind and courteous. Very nice respectable staff of personal at this establishment, looking forward to returning.

I think this hotel will be much improved once renovations are complete; however, until then if you like to relax in your room, don’t expect much after 9:30am.

Pros:
- Loved the pool area
- The omelettes in the breakfast area are good
- Location is in walking distance to many bars and restaurants
- Friendly staff

Cons:
- We were told that the renovations were happening on a different side of the hotel from the side where our hotel room was on, but it sounded like the drilling was happening right above our room. It was extremely loud.
- I noticed some of the construction workers staring down at us at the pool in our bathing suits
- Some of the outlets in our room didn’t work
