Talavera was exactly what we had in mind for a relaxing girls trip. The individual suites all with connected patios are spacious and serene. No noise from outside or other rooms was heard. The pool area and lounge chairs were relaxing and visually appealing. Best of all was the staff - everyone was beyond nice and friendly. They made pleasant, friendly conversation and recommended great brunch spots nearby. They had bikes to borrow that we took advantage of and enjoyed our surroundings on - restaurants, shops and bars are incredibly close by and a very short walk away yet Talaveras location on a quiet residential street makes it feel like a retreat away from the business. Will definitely stay again and recommend to others.

The Talavera is gorgeous, peaceful, and welcoming. The perfect place to relax and take in the the desert weather. I love the decor and theme of the hotel, very boho but minimal. The pool is perfectly heated and never crowded. The hotel is small so there aren’t a lot of guests which was my one of my favorite parts. It’s just quiet and pretty, and private. Highly recommend! Will definitely plan another trip back.

This place is so peaceful! I went on a girls trip with my friends and this was everything we were looking for. We enjoyed the back patio with private jacuzzi, the pool and seating areas around the hotel. The staff is so kind and friendly, we loved talking with them. The whole experience was above and beyond.

The suite is close enough to downtown where we could walk everywhere, it was perfect! We had a great time and absolutely will be back. We should have booked a few more nights.

Talavera is hidden gem located on a quiet side street tucked in the Tennis Club neighborhood. The location is great- a quick walk to Palm Springs restaurants and shops. The rooms are individually decorated with a bohemian vibe and very clean. The linens are nice and bed is very comfortable. Each room is set up differently but all have a private patio with jacuzzi.(Water is changed after every guest leaves). There was a microwave, a coffee maker and a mini refrigerator in our room which was very convenient.
The grounds are nicely landscaped and we loved the scent of fragrant flowers wafting in the air as we walked along the path to our room.
The pools are peaceful and inviting. One of them has a view of the mountains in the backdrop. There is a basket filled with towels for guests' use and the cushy lounge chairs are very comfortable. There is a nice barbecue off to the side of the pool if you wish to stay in and grill.
Bikes are available to use if you wish to bike around town.
Parking and check-in are easy. Check-in information was sent to us via text before we arrived and there are parking spots in front of the hotel.
We can't wait to go back!

My wife and I stayed at Talavera in early May. The location is great: you park right in front of the hotel, and when you look to the right you have an unobstructed view of the looming mountains to the west, yet the heart of Palm Springs (restaurants, shops, etc.) is a block walk to the left. When you enter the front gate, you’re immediately in the hotel’s landscaped interior courtyard, complete with the scent of a tropical flower or two. The hotel has contactless check-in, so you’re into your suite quickly. There are also staff on the grounds if you need in-person assistance.

Here’s what I thought was really cool about the property: each suite that I saw had glass-paned double entry doors (with blinds) that fronted to one of the two pools on the property. Two steps out the door and you’re at a pool (unlike some of the condos and large hotels in the area.) And somehow the designers were able to fit a secluded, private jacuzzi on the back patio of each suite. If you’ve ever been to La Quinta Resort, Talavera has that vibe, but more intimate.

The front entry doors lead to a sitting room (large L-shaped couch and TV), and the bathroom and the bedroom are off of the sitting room. My wife does some vacation property rental management here at home, and she commented on the quality of the Talavera bedding and towels. Our suite had a large bathroom, with a soaker tub and a separate shower. My wife really liked the added touch of a make-up mirror (she had to get ready for a wedding that we were attending.) The bedroom also had the needed extra amenities: a safe, two robes, a luggage stand, a coffee maker/supplies, and a blender/glasses.

We were on the go over the weekend, but we saw that couples staying at the hotel would set up shop in the morning on the pool lounge chairs, spend the morning by the pool, and then stroll over to the main drag and bring back lunch to enjoy by the pool. The larger pool also had a BBQ/outdoor range off to the side. Plenty of great restaurants a block or two away, but you could also “dine-in” one night, poolside, if you're willing to do a little grilling. The only negative comment that I can make about Talavera is that the BBQ was so unbelievably clean that I walked away with a complex about the sorry state of my BBQ at home :-)

One more tip: if you’re driving in from LA/Riverside/Orange County, be sure to take Highway 111 into Palm Springs off of Interstate 10. As you’re approaching Talavera, you feel like you’re sliding back into the original Palm Springs, as the town, merchants, and residents have really embraced the preserving/bringing back the “mid-century modern” architecture/feel, and you’ll be in the right mood when you set foot into Talavera.
