This review is for The ENCLAVES at Shadow Ridge. I stayed in a 1 bedroom deluxe for 1 night in December 2016. Sadly, I wish I had stayed longer! This was the last phase of construction for Marriott's Shadow Ridge. It only consists of 5 or 6 buildings at the very end of the road. It is a quiet location and they have their own pool area so you you don't have to go far. There are barbecues between every building. I was surprised to find the new floor plans are on the small side. Very contemporary in design, the kitchen is pretty well equipped, although there is NO hand mixer! The kitchen opens up to the living area, and the outside deck. There are two large sliding doors that open which gives you the feeling of being outdoors! The deck was very large! Perfect for the cooler weather. The usual comfortable Marriott bed with fluffy pillows. The bathroom was nothing specular and only has a shower, there is NO tub! The shower is pretty unique though, they have two square, flat shower heads recessed that give you a nice stream of water.
I thought it a little odd that there was a window in the master bedroom which was right on the walk way. At night it is extremely well lit, so even with the room darkening curtains light crept through. The master bedroom has a wall of stackable sliding doors that open up to the living room. For a short stay, it was nice. I understand that the guest portion of these are pretty small, a 100 sq. ft. smaller than The Villages. If you are only staying in a guest suite, I recommend you pick another property.
Shadow Ridge is a very large complex, over 600 villas. There are multiple pools, exercise rooms, put-put areas, and other amenities. The main club house is very nice, and has a nice grill restaurant. They have a Starbucks with fresh pastries in the morning next to Reception. It is easy access to the freeway, and a straight shot down Monterey to the Mall.
The do have elevators in the buildings.
