I love how cheery the Marriott staff are when they greet you. It helps to put one in a positive frame of mind. The room was clean and nicely appointed, with seating and an overall well- designed space. There isn’t a lot on the site however it’s right across from LA Live with lots of massive bars and restaurants. The bed was comfy and thank goodness for the coffee maker. I had to unplug the mini fridge (sorry!) and turn off the ac as they were quite noisy. Otherwise, all good.

A group of 13 colleagues arrived at 11pm anxious to check in and get some rest before a full day of meeting starting early the next morning. Upon arriving, we were told a pipe in the hotel had burst and there would be no water until the morning. I know things happen, but the front desk manager was rude and unapologetic. No compensation was offered - no voucher, no upgrade, no transfer to another Marriott, not even a food or beverage coupon. A smile and an apology would have gone a long way, but this guy just couldn't be bothered. I saw him watch uninterested as some poor gentleman tried to carry multiple gallon jugs to his room for his family of five to bathe and this manager didn't even offer to help or get him a cart or anything. Ridiculous.

While the plumbing issue was out of his control, expressing empathy and apologizing could've alleviated your frustration. Hotel keys expire in less than 12 hours. Staff does not address deficiency.

Front door and desk staff show lack of compassion for issues resulting from hotel.

Avoid this location and find lodging at competitor.

Room tip: Get hotel key rekeyed every 12 hiurs or les.

Customer service was very kind and helpful from the beginning, held our luggage for us as we arrived very early in the day and had events to attend prior to check in. Room was clean and comfortable, and the pool was gorgeous!

WARNING: DO NOT STAY HERE. The short story is that our car was broken into, attempted stolen, and severely vandalized (to the point that we had to rent a car to go back to our home state and our car is still in a collision center 7 weeks later). This happened WHILE IN VALET PARKING for which we paid $52/night. The worst part is the way the situation was handled by management and the way we were treated. Without our knowledge, the valet chose to park our car off-site in an unsupervised, unsecured parking lot (2 blocks away from the hotel) because the hotel garage was full. To no surprise, our car was broken into during the night. The hotel discovered this at 6:00am, but did not tell us until we requested our car at almost noon that day. We were shown where our car was, and found it unsupervised, unlocked with smashed windows. My personal property was on the pavement or missing. I asked why my car was left fully exposed with broken windows for 6 hours after it was discovered, and they said they needed to wait until the right person arrived who has more experience relaying the message. I then went to speak to the hotel manager on duty, who took no responsibility, told me that I need to read the fine print on the back of my tiny valet ticket, and said he wouldn’t even refund my valet charge. He then revealed that parking is run by a 3rd party business, so Marriott has no responsibility and cannot help me in any way. This is how this hotel (and Marriott as a company) treats its customers.

The front desk very professional and friendly and housekeeping staff very kind and doing the best they can. However, this property is poorly managed. Room was filthy. Stained carpets, couch and bed skirt. No time to move hotels or rooms moving two students in at LA based universities. Stayed at this property several times but never again. Lobby Starbucks out of most items and outdated menu. Told “go across the street”. Property needs attention even the circle drive entrance has busted pavers trip hazard and major liability. Ran into an issue with flight needed to extend and will to pay for 2 extra hours refused to accommodate. Very frustrating stay. Staying at Hotel Figueroa from now on.
