It is rather educational for the children to see what geyster, volcanic, suphur are about. The walk from the car park is decent to see this place. Unfortunately it started to rain and we are not able to walk further and has to abandon the trip, but passed by the blue statues.

Its a good experience and educational.
Very nice scenary. Fun photography with the “avatar like statues” nearby.
Only thing is; it may get very windy and the coldness is unbearable for children during winter.
Some icy tracks were very slippery and must be extremely careful eventhough you have a good pair of snow boots.. i have seen a few tourist fell down.

Beautiful place to visit june when the scenery is clear and the weather is cool. Be sure to go on the walking trails to capture different angles of the place and breathe in the wondrous smells of sulfur too! (May be overpowering for some as you get to the edge of one of the paths)

Wow. I actually loved this place. It was raining when we got there but it did not deter us. The smell of burning sulphur and the smoking escaping from the cracks in the ground made this place a unique and wonderful experience. Closest to hell we would ever get to see.

You could almost be on another planet. Worth a look if you are in the vicinity. Allow a few hours as you can walk to a steaming crater and around the mountain area seeing various vistas. This will include the hot foot bath - you will need to take a small towel if you choose to do this so you can dry your feet. This area can be cool even in summer - it was 11 degrees the day I went in recently in June.
