BEWARE: Read the fine print

Be warned: read the fine print CLOSELY!!!

I had a reservation at this hotel and upon check in I was told that my reservation was cancelled. They said they tried to reach me and when I never responded they proceeded to cancel my full reservation. I received a confirmation email 5 days ago. At the top of the email was all my reservation information. The Subject line read “ SHERATON GARDEN GROVE RESERVATION CONFIRMATION” Then the line directly below that said

“It is a pleasure to confirm your reservation as follows:-

 Reservation Number: (it had my reservation number)                             Arrival Date:     05-03-2019

 Guest Name(s):    Joshua Snider

Arrival Time:

 Company Name:                                           Departure Date:   05-05-2019”

The manager who I spoke with at the front desk, Vanity, was very condescending and rude. She notified us that our room had been canceled and She never once apologized or offered us any accommodations. She simply said there is no reservation and we emailed you and you didn’t respond. I showed her my emails (yes plural) of only confirmations I had received. She had me pull up the confirmation email and had me scroll to the VERY bottom of the most recent confirmation email where It said I needed to contact the hotel as payment was needed or it would be subject to cancelation. THE BOTTOM OF THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL. That’s not right! If I have a confirmation email for a reservation for that week that I booked over a month ago, why would I open it to scroll all the way to the bottom to see if there is an issue?

Vanity would not accept our reservation nor did she offer to rebook with them for a different rate. She never apologized for the inconvenience or the misfortune. I was left stranded in Anaheim without a room. I had asked multiple times to speak to the general manager and she said no because he wasn’t on the clock. I tried calling customer service as well and they said “there is no direct number as our system is down”. SERIOUSLY!? How is this acceptable!? I was left scrambling to find a hotel the night of without paying an arm and a leg!

This experience puts such a bad taste in my mouth that honestly I never want to stay at a sheraton/Marriott again.

We were at this hotel for two nights for a quick Disneyland trip. The hotel is located quite far down Harbor Blvd from Disneyland but don't let this worry you. It is within 5 minutes drive of the Toy Story parking lot. The area this hotel is in has a lot to offer. There is a Target nearby as well as a lot of restaurants. We arrived very late and check-in was a breeze. They didn't have a room with two beds like we had requested but they brought up a roll-away bed for us at no cost. The room was very spacious and modern. The entire hotel was spic-and-span so clean. The first night we were there, there were a lot of college age kids in the hotel. They kept the elevators busy so there was a line to get to our room. They created a lot of noise all night running up and down the hallways, talking loudly, and slamming doors. This was no fault of the hotels just something to be noted. The beds were really comfortable, the bathroom really nice. You do have to pay for parking, which is pretty much the norm at any hotel near Disneyland. However at this hotel the gate to get out of the hotel parking lot rarely worked and we had to call the front desk to get someone to open it almost every time. At the prices they charge for parking you would think they could repair the gate. One morning we saw the gate start to open and a car started through the gate and the gate came down directly on the car. I am sure it damaged the car but the drive just drove off. We accidentally left some of our kids electronics behind in the safe. When I called the hotel later that day they had found the items and held onto them until we could go pick them up. Overall I would definitely stay here again, just beware of the gate.

Had an amazing experience here. Rooms were great, the staff was super helpful and friendly and the price point was really great considering the area the hotel is in. The management team of this location certainly deserves an award of excellence! 5 stars, no question!

Hotel looks nice from outside but landscaping is basic. Lobby was nice but looks institutional and cluttered with bar and restaurant.
I booked room several months in advance but never got confirmation until I called. I did not get the receipt either.
Rooms are clean. Bathroom vanity top was broken and dangerous. It could cut user if not careful.
Breakfast was subpar and expensive for $40 per person
Wouldn’t recommend

I feel bad because the hotel itself is beautiful, but the experience was awful. They gave away the room we had pre-paid for and made us downsize. The parking gates were not working the entire time, taking half an hour to get someone to look at it. The elevator got stuck while I was in it and the walls are paper thin. All of these things added up made for a terrible stay,

Not great for family with small children. Rude uncaring staff. So many issues, never resolved.
Checked in and room was clean, but there was no tub, only a shower. Called front desk and requested a room with a tub. They said they don’t have rooms with tubs, showers only. Our daughter has autism and the different sensation of a shower is frightening and triggering to her, so we thought we’d have to switch hotels, but the hotel had already charged our card and said they would not refund at this point since we’ve checked in. We called back in the am and spoke to a manger who said there were rooms with tubs and while were at the park, they will move us. Great! We spent extra time packing back up and putting everything by the door. When we got back, we were not moved. We had packed all our things, still sitting by the door. So then we had to explain everything again to the front desk person, who had no idea about any of this, who had to talk to more people who eventually after an hour, gave us a new room. No one ever asked if we needed help moving our things. So we went up to new room to see if it was ok. The new room not only had 2 beds, which we had already had a king, but stunk like marijuana and cigarettes and the tub was ADA and had a seat attached to the wall that wouldnt fold up and stay up, and kept falling.. so back to old room. We ended up having to bath her in the pool...

Paid for parking when the gates were never closed and no parking ticket for car ever given. Came home from parks to find the lots were full. Someone was having a house party and it was obvious because the gates weren’t closed at all during the 3 days we were there that neighborhood party guests were parking at the hotel and filling it. When we came in to ask what we were supposed to do, staff told me, with a small child at 1am to “park across the street at target.” We have handicap too and there are only a few of those spaces and they were full. Then asked if we could park at Delta next door we were told we would have to pay an additional $25! Delta and Sheraton are both owned by Marriott and they should have a contract if the gates at Sheraton are broken and lots are full, guests should be able to park there. No apologies, just rude.

Then of course when we got to our room, room keys not working. Called and spoke to a supervising manager the next morning, who could only give us one free buffet breakfast to apologize for all the inconveniences. We had to pay for the other breakfast. Buffet was awful and eggs and French toast were watery and bacon too greasy to eat. So my daughter had to order pancakes, which we had to pay for. So something free turned into more charges.
Very frustrating trip and even thought we spoke to supervisor and manager, no one cared. This happened to be my daughter’s birthday and it was not worth the money to stay there. We’ve stayed down the street at Hyatt Regency and it was a wonderful stay, we will go back there next time and recommend that to friends, family, and clients.
Oh and the toilet took 30 mins for the tank to fill to be able to flush and no one ever came to fix it when we asked multiple times.

No where to buy quick snacks, had to get food delivered or go to target.
