My boyfriend and I decided to head up to Mendocino Coast for the weekend so we can go off to shore for Sea Urchin plucking! We booked a night at Harbor House Inn and opted in for dinner service that night. We heard so many good things about the service and dinner is said to be amazing! (After all, can't go wrong with a Michelin 3 Star chef!)

We arrived around noon-ish was greeted right away by Amanda. She checked us in and was able to accommodate a early check- in so we're can freshen up! Amanda took our request for breakfast. You can either have it in-room or out in the dining room (how cool is that? Boyfriend opted for dining room)

After we were check- in. We was lead out to the back patio with a welcoming drink. (Tea with fresh herbs from the garden) Tea with a beautiful view? I can get used it this!

The room itself was beautiful. It had a huge bed and with sitting area and fireplace. The table had a welcoming card and little treats (so good!)

After we dropped off our stuff. We headed to the Elk Store for some sandwiches (so bomb!) We proceeded our day at the beach. Low tide was approaching...we succeeded in finding the sea urchins! We was so lucky to be able to find a red urchin just stuck to the rock!

After our little beach adventure, we headed back to Harbor House Inn to freshen up. We had booked our dinner service at 6:30pm. We don't know what's on the menu but it ranges from fresh vegetables from the garden to local seafood. We are in for a surprise and in trust of our Chef!

We were seated at 6:30pm. All the wait staff was so welcoming. The dinner consists of 10 courses, everything was perfectly timed in coming out. The presentation of each dish was absolutely beautiful, almost too good to eat! The taste of each dish was unique and absolutely delicious! I don't know how to cook...so I would never be able to put all these unique flavors in each and every bite. We both had a glass of wine recommended by Corrina, the Sommelier. She poured us a local wine to accompany our dinner. Our dinner lasted about 3 hours which gave us time to chat in between and enjoy the view (too bad it was foggy that night, so we didn't get to see the sun set but it was still a nice view!)

Upon waking up..(slept really good! The beds are so comfy!) We walked downstairs to the dining room and was seated. There's fresh-made pasties waiting to be devoured! We had our orange and tea served. We took in the the beautiful morning view while we waited for our breakfast to arrived.
We both opted for the egg dish. (Soooo bomb!)

After breakfast, we went back to the room and slowly gathered things together. It was time to leave this beautiful place.. Our overall experience was really wonderful! It's a nice, quiet romantic getaway. Away from all the big city lights and noise! Will definitely be back in the future!

A few of my girlfriends and I went to Mendocino for a getaway last Saturday and stayed in the Harbor House Inn. It was a magical weekend of beautiful coastal views, incredible Michelin Star-quality food, and a completely relaxing environment.

The GM, Amanda, gave us a tour of the property which was was built over a century ago and newly renovated in an impeccable combination of history and newer design. It was gorgeous, with a short hike down to a private beach we loved exploring. During low tide, you can even go through the caves and walk further down the shore. The highlight was the food which was absolutely incredible. The 10-course dinner and delicious breakfast rocked our worlds, most of which is ingredients straight from the garden and catches by the local fisherwomen.

I can't wait to plan another trip to go back!

Highly recommend if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing, yet extra special getaway. The views from the inn are some of the most dramatic and breathtaking on the Pacific coastline. Rooms are very private and comfortable and have recently been renovated to create a luxurious, yet rustic feel. House staff is warm and welcoming, and provided us with everything we needed for a perfect stay, including their personal recommendations of local adventures... if you can bear to leave the property.

Aside from epic, inspiring views, the best thing about this place is hands down the dining experience. The michelin-experienced kitchen staff knocks it out of the park with their innovative, locally sourced dishes (The kelp butter is WTF-amazing). And the entire dining room is even decked out with local, handmade utensils and pieces. This is a special place!

Room Tip: Cottages are the most private!

We had heard so much about this marvelous inn. It was just reopened after a few years of extensive renovation when we visited. Our bedroom windows had an unobstructed, phenomenal view of the Pacific coast shoreline.
During the day, we ventured down to the private beach during low tide and saw 2 rock caves with massive waves crashing into them about 40 ft from the shore - quite a view.
Dinner was phenomenal. Served by a Michelin Star rated chef. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious. The star of the meal was definitely the Oolong bread served during breakfast. The uniquely tea scented pound cake was so flavorful yet not too sweet. Wish they’d allow us to buy a few loaves for take out. Overall, it was truly relaxing to spend a weekend in a cozy inn with all the amenities and served by enthusiastic and attentive staff. Our efforts in driving through winding part of US 1 leading to the inn was all worthwhile after all!

Luxurious accommodation, Michelin dining experience with million dollar view at your feet, what more can you ask for? The hotel is also newly renovated in beginning of 2018, if you’re in the area, a must visit!
