We went in just for water but the smell hooked us and we stayed for lunch. We ended up on the back patio and had a great time. My family all loved their sandwiches. I had the chicken salad on a roll and it was refreshing. It's really good BBQ food. I bought some seasonings from there and the family loved it. You can also buy fresh cut meats.

After a visit to the Jelly Belly factory, we were looking for a quick lunch and happened on this place. The view from the outside is not inspiring, but you could tell walking in that this was legit BBQ. We each ordered the daily special (ribs drenched in sauce) and found that we could have easily shared a single order. The ribs were perfect - a clean bite without being dry, and the sauce was exceptional. The sides (potato salad and cole slaw) we're okay, but largely superfluous given the large quantity of exceptional ribs. But for the fact we were staying an hour and half away, I could have returned to eat at this place a couple of times

To die for rib eye sandwich! The roll was one of my favorites, soft and chewy; yet, it can stand up to the juices from the perfectly bbq’d rib eye, and condiments that paired magnificently to balance everything out. The meat is seasoned, but not overpowering the experience and it was a huge portion, so no need to worry about being hungry after you enjoy this beautiful creation.

Stopped by during the farmers market for a couple of sandwiche's. Good stuff. We had the ribeye, pulled pork and Reuben. The place needs an update with better TV'S.

I've been rolling past this Benicia location on a bike for a while now and haven't stopped because when you're on a road bike you're not looking for a big meal. So me and the wife had a chance to check it out during Benicia's Peddlers Fair and we were pleasantly surprised. Love the building they're in with the screen door to enter. You meander past some of the tables to get to the ordering area. The menu is straightforward. The place is close quarters (cozy) with the eating areas spread out. We ordered their eponymous Famous Ball Tip Steak Sandwich combo and split it between the two of us as we were not looking for a heavy lunch. The ball tip was between tender and resistant where you have to bite it; so it wasn't tough at all but didn't just surrender when you sunk your teeth into it. Loved the standard sauce as it was sweet with minimal tang. The bread was soft but hefty enough to handle the tugging as you bit into the sandwich. The combo with the potato salad and beans found both to be more on the sweet side; we liked them both but some people may prefer something more traditional. We ended up sitting at the counter and stools along the windows near the front entrance. Kinder's also sells meats and their sauces. Overall it is pocket-friendly depending on what and how much you order. Downtown Benicia has plenty of eateries to choose from so it just depends what you have a hankering for.
