While location is very convenient for Petra sightseeing being only a few hundred meters from the entrance (on a steep hill though), the hotel itself is outdated and worn out. The bathroom seems not been renovated since the hotel opening, the curtains have not seen washing machine for ages, carpets stained. Poor sound isolation and one gets awaken for early morning prayers around 5am. Average breakfast selection, glad they served boiled eggs. There was an equipment prepared for frying eggs but we have not seen anyone being ready to serve it during our 2 nights stay. Wifi worked only in the lobby. With room price nearly $190 per night it is inadequate for a hostel type accommodation (all stars lost long time ago).

The toilets here need updating ASAP. Also, not ideal if you have a room next to the mosque. Prayers are something you need to get used in the country (and are beautiful most of the time), but bad location and window glazing really rob you of sleep at unearthly hours.

Nice hotel and very adequate for a visit to Petra. Rooms are certainly smaller and not updated, but it works well and is a short walk (if you're OK with a steep hill) to the entrance to Petra. Good restaurant "Petra Nights" is just down the hill from Candles. Pleasant desk staff. It was loud due to nearby jackhammering while I was there, but not much the hotel could do about that!

Nice welcome and improve efforts from hotel's staff that was very kind and truly polite in order to make your stay in Petra a trip to remember. Near to Petra entrance, this hotel places you in one of the top locations in Petra city. You have a 6to visit and to enjoy from here. Thank you and all the best !
