Review of The Lamb Inn

The Lamb Inn
Ranked #4 of 25 Restaurants in Builth Wells
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$4 - US$22
Cuisines: Brew Pub
Description: Newly Refurbished and under new management, The Lamb now offers a varied and delicious lunch and evening menu with many different varieties of soft drinks, coffee's, spirits, wines and beers. With seating for up to 40 people within the restaurant we have the availability for parties and larger bookings. The beer garden also provides the opportunity for people to dine with us Al fresco and take advantage of the summer weather. We would suggest making reservations during our busier times of the year to save disappointment.

After having an awful experience at another pub in the area we decided to give Builth Wells one last chance and went to the Lamb Inn.

Probably one of the best decisions this holiday!

Very accommodating, very good food and extremely good value for money on both the food and drink front.

Friendly staff to go on top. What more could you ask for?

Will be returning when next in the area! Couldn't recommend highly enough.

eating area is in the actual pub which can get busy and all tables are overlooked but the food is good and plentiful and drinks are reasonable, so put the two together and Bingo! good night out

I was staying at a nearby hotel and didn't fancy eating in their 1 star hygiene rated restaurant so came across this place after a recommendation. There was only one gent serving at the bar and delivering the food which is ok as it was quiet when I got there but that soon changed and the bar became busier so the food took longer to arrive. Although it wasn't his fault he was apologetic and the food was definitely worth the wait. I had the chicken to start and gammon for main. The gammon covered the plate and tasted amazing. Would recommend food here, plentiful portions and tasting great.

This is a lovely little restaurant with really lovely staff but the food and drink was very disappointing. I ordered a pineapple juice with lemonade and it tasted foul. When I went back to the bar the waiter looked confused and said they didn’t have pineapple juice and didn’t know where they found that from!! It was clearly out of date!! We both ordered lasagna and they were the smallest lasagnes I had ever seen. But more disturbingly was that they they both looked so different. One looked like lasagne but the other looked like it had been dropped, scooped back in the dish and was then covered with cream. I really don’t know what the white liquid was on one of them but the other didn’t have it and it tasted terrible. The portions were small and not worth the money.
Very disappointing after waiting 50 minutes for our food to come out. We were told there would be a bit of a wait which we didn’t mind but we expected our food to be worth the wait which it wasn’t.
The waitress was lovely and couldn’t apologise enough. The meal was replaced and the price was knocked off the bill.
Unlikely we would return when we are next in Builth.
