This is a fabulous hotel, with great views from the panoramic ocean view rooms.
The room we had was on the fourth floor in the Adults only section and had 180-degree views over the sea. The balcony itself was very large, with a table and two chairs and two recliners, and plenty of room for more if needed. I believe some rooms had a Hot tub on the balcony, though ours didn’t. The balcony got the sun from about 10.00am, and as the day progresses, more of the balcony got coverage by the sun. We were able to watch some beautiful sunsets right in front of us.
The rooms themselves were very clean and well thought out, with a settee, desk and chair, king sized bed, two bed side cabinets, plenty of electric points and two USB points above the desk. large television, with some English channels, separate bathroom area with a bath, twin sinks and plenty of storage, separate shower with rain shower as well as flexible shower head and a separate toilet. There were also a couple of built in wardrobes, a safe and minibar.
We chose to go B & B, and the breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice either from a menu, or a buffet where bacon, eggs, pancakes and omelettes were made while you waited, and sausages beans, scrambled eggs etc. were in pans for you to help yourselves. There were also fruits, meats cereals, biscuits, toast, various breads, cheese, meats, Croissants along with a choice of different types of milk. Obviously, there were coffees, and teas as well as fruit juices and cava. My only criticism is that with so many British, they ought to learn to make tea, not bring a tea bag and a tea pot containing hot water.
The Breakfast area becomes the Buffet area during the evening, and once again they provide a good choice, with a chef to prepare the hot food while you wait. Again, I found there was plenty of choice for all tastes. I am not sure that setting out an uncooked example looks very appetising, but I ate there twice, and enjoyed it both times.
I found the staff very attentive and helpful, always working hard to look after the guests. They all spoke good English.
There were two pools on the Adult only side, both with bars. The roof top pool was very busy a lot of the time, but the ground floor pool normally had some beds available, and the staff were always attentive and helpful.
There is always room for improvement, and I think the Domestic staff needs further training or the management does. Cleaning was not bad but was certainly not consistent in standard. Turn down often was at 5.30pm, when we were just getting showered ready for the evening, or while we were relaxing. The television was on the wall at the bottom of the bed, and so we tended to lie on the bed whilst watching the telly, so turn down at that time was both inconvenient and too early. We were there for 10 days, and only had chocolates on two occasions, it should be either every time or never. As we get up early at home, as we were on holiday, we wanted to relax in bed until about 9.30am, guess what time they came to do the room, yep, 9.30am just as we were trying to wash and get dressed. We had to put the do not disturb sign up, but sometimes we forgot, I understand there are a lot of rooms to sort, but more staff for shorter time might allow the guests to have a more relaxing stay. This may sound a bit petty, but it was quite a topic of conversation amongst guests. I would guess that the staff are trained to do things in a certain way, including leaving one of each type of tea bag, and one small milk capsule. This meant every day if I wanted a second cup of tea, I had to send for extra, or take some from breakfast. On one occasion I asked for extra milk to be sent up to the room whilst we were out in an evening. They brought one small milk capsule and removed the key from the in room key slot, so the Air conditioning went off and the room was hot when we returned. Another small thing is there is no service lift, so the cleaning staff were using the lifts with their big trollies, I think this is what put one of the two lifts out of action for 3 days over the weekend.
We arranged transfers through the hotel, and we were picked up in a very nice Mercedes. However, the transfer from the hotel when we were leaving did not arrive as arranged at 8.30 am, this caused problems as no one who knew anything about it or what to do about it was due to come into work until 10.00am. Luckily the concierge was reached by the receptionist via Facebook messenger and gave the receptionist a telephone number to contact the driver who turned up an hour late.
The hotel is very well situated for the restaurants in the village, with several good choices within a 5- or 6-minute easy walk of the Beach reception. I am not sure about walking from the suite’s reception, as we didn’t visit that reception.
We will certainly be returning to this Hotel soon, as it was overall a very pleasant and relaxing stay.
