Great spot

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 22 Oct 2024via mobile
The highlight of this hotel is being incorporated into the lovely food court which is a great place to relax at the end of a long, cold day. We stayed in a suite which was large and comfortable; I’d equate it to a holiday inn in terms of beds and furnishings. We found it slightly noisy thanks to its position by the road, and would have liked a bath, but overall would highly recommend a stay here as you tour Iceland.

I stayed here on my first night in Iceland and it was perfect for what I needed. I had spent all day at the Blue Lagoon and needed some place not too far outside of Reykjavik before starting on the south coast the next day.

The rooms are basic. This isn’t a luxury hotel so expect no frills. That being said (and as someone who does love nice hotels), this serves its purpose and serves it well! It’s clean, good location, easy parking, elevator, and the beds are SO COMFORTABLE!

The lobby has a coffee bar and sells some traditional icelandic treats. They also have an adorable lobby store with all local designers and brands where I grabbed a few gifts to bring home! Everyone I encountered was very pleasant and check in was easy. I didn’t try the breakfast.

The hotel is across from a Bonus supermarket, bakery and little strip mall that also has some Icelandic touristy shops. Being right next to the supermarket was great for picking up some snacks

One thing I will note (and I’m not sure of this is common in all of Iceland as my second more $$ hotel also had this issue) but you cannot control the thermostat in your room. I like to sleep cold and would have liked to lower the temp a bit.

Overall - basic, clean, comfortable, and adorable lobby.

Room tip: Pick up some snacks at the Bonus supermarket across the way!

Very convenient location. The staff was very friendly but breakfast is quite basic. The rooms were clean and basic. Convenient food trucks available inside the hotel (next to lobby). The stay includes access to the local swimming pool which is quite an Icelandic experience.

Great location, nice views of the town.
A lot of food options.
Breakfast was expensive but alright, food hall and gift shops on the ground floor, nice to have close by.

Visited on a saturday, very noisy at night and poor air contitioning in the room.

Room tip: Parking on every side of the building is free

Great concept—hotel with food hall and boutique. Seems like they are gearing up for the summer season, with some areas under construction / not in use (lounge, rooftop, arcade, fire pit?). Family rooms on the small side, but functional with bunk beds for the kids. Convenient location for groceries (Bonus) and a brewery/pizza place in walking distance, with Reykjadalur hot spring hike a short drive away. Browsing the shop was a fun evening activity. All in all a good stay that will probably be better during the high season.

Stayed here for 1 night prior to our departure from Iceland. A lovely hotel with clean rooms! It’s a very self sufficient hotel so we didn’t encounter any staff or have breakfast (only cold options available)!

The downstairs is what makes this. Well thought out with great food vendors, although one needs to work on their customer service skills.

Would recommend!
