My husband and I stayed here for our 1 year anniversary and it was perfect. The room was amazing, the pool was beautiful, the view was incredible and the room service meal we got the next morning was so good. We had dinner the night before at Elements, which is our favorite restaurant in Phoenix. Top notch food, wine and service. We had a blast!

Stayed: September 2018

Just spent an incredible 4 days with a group of 8 adults. My husband and I stayed in a Camelback Suite, which was heavenly. All of us really enjoyed our spa treatments - special thanks to Liron for the Wild Lime Blossom massage - he did an amazing job, and to Julie for the wonderful Lavender Body Scrub!
Shout out to Chadd and the staff at the infinity pool for taking very good care of us and for putting up with a little rowdy afternoon/evening - you guys are awesome! Also, we dined at Elements and all raved about our dinners. Food and drinks at Jade Bar were also excellent.
Finally, thanks to the bellmen for many trips up and down the hill when we were too hot/tipsy/lazy to walk. I hope to return and try the Watsu next time; too bad the Watsu pool was broken. Can't say enough about this place - everything was top-notch and the staff were all fantastic! We were all sad to leave yesterday.

Room Tip: Room 263 is private and has a great view from the balcony

A good friend stays often at this hotel and knowing him I was not expecting anything but good things. Every single member of the staff we encountered was friendly and welcoming.

The pool area is great with Las Vegas level food and drinks poolside without the Las Vegas BS. The pool is adults only on weekends so this is a great weekend getaway resort for adults wanting some peace and quiet. For those with children though there are smaller pools in other parts of the resort and there is a lap pool for those who enjoy swimming.

The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and the bed was great. Our room had a view of the valley. Some rooms will, unfortunately, overlook some of the parking spots but this is a good tradeoff for those with vehicles as parking near your room is free and offers easy access to your vehicle. Ours was behind our room so we had the best of both worlds.

I did not personally use the spa but we were a group of about 25 and those who did say it was a great experience.

The restaurant is very good and there is a nice social scene on weekends. We had breakfast pretty much every day and all the dishes were great and different from what you get at most resorts. Truffle eggs benedict, "MacMuffin" breakfast sandwich, etc. Staff, like everywhere else in the hotel, was great; a shout-out to Taylor for exceptional service. The bartenders are true masters of their craft you are not getting some premade, watered-down crap at this place. Dinner was very good but be aware that there is a lot of use of sweet sauces and if this is not your thing you may want to ask for it on the side. Both steaks I had were overcooked but flavorful, perhaps medium-rare means something else in AZ. The pork chop is AMAZING and can probably feed two people.

Nitpicking here. On a Friday to Tuesday stay our room was made up maybe twice. We were in and out a lot but it seems they have no way of knowing that. Turn down service happened twice. Unfortunate that the infinity pool has a view to other buildings instead of the valley alone but if you are on cliffs there may be few ways to grow the resort. The pool is still an exceptional place to pass the time and enjoy the sun truly nitpicking.

Room Tip: Rooms in the lower 200 range will require less walking up the hill.

My wife and I chose the Sanctuary for our Honeymoon and it did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived the overall ambiance was relaxing and exactly what we were looking for. The check in process and bell staff were awesome. They got us into our room early and took care of our bags without hesitation while we explored the grounds. We took advantage of the spa on day 1 and it did not disappoint: the locker/lounge rooms were extremely nice and provided and very peaceful private area to prepare for your spa treatments. Top notch in our opinion. Throughout the whole weekend all of the staff was so incredible and checked in on us to ensure we were enjoying our honeymoon. They knew our names almost immediately it seemed and on so many occasions went the extra mile. We enjoyed drinks at the Jade bar with Ken regularly because he was such an awesome person to be around, we spent the mornings at the pool and Chadd was there to see that we had everything we needed. We were even able to get a cabana and watch some football on Saturday while enjoying a lazy day at the pool and I just don’t think I could have thought of a better way to spend the day. Lori and John Cooper at the elements restaurant also went way out of their way to make sure the stay was incredible, we were able to do a nice wine tasting on Saturday evening by splitting up some by the glass wines and Lori took the time to actually teach us quite a bit. I could go on and on about all of the different things that made the weekend special but the main point is that from the moment we arrived until the moment we left everything we could have imagined being done to make the stay special, was done and more. Incredible weekend and we will definitely be back to celebrate future special occasions!!

This is not the usual luxury resort: all of the rooms/suites are on ground level/not a high rise; the staff is unusually friendly/customer-oriented, with a happy to do it attitude in response to anything requested; the location is great-on the slopes of Camelback mountain; great views from the mountain casitas/suites, spa rooms/suites lower down near the spa/pool/tennis courts; in quiet/up-scale Paradise Valley-just a short distance from Scottsdale road and all of the shops/restaurants in Scottsdale. We started coming regularly, after trying virtually all of the high-end resorts in the area, and now stay at Sanctuary several times each year.
