Originally opened in August, 2008 by Italian born Simona Pelo, the Boutique Hotel de la Fonte has evolved from a property with one small house and a pool into 14 adjoining bungalows that grace the property. If you like to read a book or simply relax on your vacation, this is the place for you! On most days, the birds on the property will gently awaken you as the new day begins.

An architect by trade, Simona has made several major improvements over the last 10 years which include a fabulous restaurant and a 2,300 bottle wine cellar. Needless to say, it is a huge luxury to have such a high quality restaurant 30 meters from your bungalow!

Because of her architecture and interior design skill set, Simona is always striving to improve the property by adding her own personal touches. She also happens to be an accomplished painter. Many of the art pieces displayed throughout the hotel are her own. She is highly creative, charismatic and a joy to talk to.

Known for its Italian & Argentine cuisine, De La Fonte Restaurant & Wine Bar is lead by Chef Mateo Lagostena who is the brain trust behind the menu. Mateo splits his time between Puerto Iguazu & Portofino, Italy where he owns his second restaurant.

Every Tuesday night, De La Fonte Restaurant & Wine Bar offers a
"Menu Romantica" for 2 people which includes a wonderful bottle of champagne and a four course tasting menu for only 1620 pesos -- roughly $41 USD.

Several times per year Simona also hosts events promoting other local painters in conjunction with wine tastings from her extensive wine bodega. The staff is terrific and works very hard to serve their guests. I highly recommend the Boutique Hotel de la Fonte in Puerto Iguazu for any tourist that comes to visit the majestic waterfalls -- shared by Argentina, Brazil & Paraguay.

Given the recent devaluation of the Argentine peso, this hotel is an incredible value for what you pay. What was once a $160 per night bungalow is now a $62 per night bargain. Boutique Hotel de la Fonte is located at the corner of calle 1st de Mayo & Esquina. Reservation inquiries may be sent to: info@BHFboutiquehotel,com.
The telephone number is (549) 3757 420 625.

The hotel location is excellent, close to all the main attractions. Hotel premises are very nice, with a beautiful pool area, outdoor Jacuzzi. Definitely the lush tropical environment surrounding the hotel makes it unique. The room was comfortable, clean, with its own outside seating area.

The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and well prepared. My wife and I were very well attended throughout our stay by all hotel staff & management, and especially Fabio which was of great help to us, always ready to give us tips on things to do in the area and always with a smile on his face. Even the hotel's cat, Silvestre, was a great host :)

The breakfast was super nice and served on unique wooden platters which we absolutely adored. The wine bar is extremely chic, and if you want to enjoy a quiet evening it is the perfect set to do so. Flawless service, amazing wines and a finger-licking dry tomato bruschetta.

We totally recommend this hotel. We will definitely book again.

I absolutely loved this hotel, and would go back tomorrow if it were only about 8000 miles closer. The grounds are beautiful, well designed, and well-maintained, and there are small tables and places to sit throughout the property. There's even a hammock to relax in! Rooms are spacious and clean. I found all the staff members to be gracious and helpful.

I read the other reviews on here before I booked and saw some complaints about the breakfast. It is true that it doesn't change from day to day (but neither does my breakfast at home), but the amount of food that you are given is perfectly adequate.

I highly recommend this hotel.

We absolutely loved this hotel, it was everything we wanted. The grounds are lovely and very tropical with each room having its own balcony with chairs and a table and some had hammocks. The main pool is very relaxing and a perfect spot to enjoy some drinks at night or during the day. When we went the water in the pool was a bit chilly but we didn't mind.

The staff was very friendly and helpful from the moment we checked in to checkout and even helped us book a car to return us to the Brazilian side of the falls. Upon arrival the woman who checked us in also upgraded us to a nicer room which had large windows overlooking the grounds. We loved waking up to that tropical garden and big windows. The room itself was open, clean and spacious. The bathroom shower had an electric heater so it didn't have the hottest water but the whole bathroom had an outdoor feel and given it was warm it wasn't an issue. The breakfast was super filling and served on unique wooden platters which I loved.

One of my biggest highlights was the restaurant. I had read other reviews regarding the restaurant and was very excited to try it and it didn't disappoint. It really was a Michelin star restaurant. The silverware was so unique and the food was so delicious accompanied by great service and great wine. We ate there two nights because we loved it and both nights were great. If you are staying there you must try and if you aren't you should for sure visit.

In terms of location I was worried it might be far from the falls but the bus stop to the city and Iguazu falls was a block up from the hotel. We also walked to the park where the 3 countries overlook each other, it is a 10 min walk from the hotel, and enjoyed a nice walk to town from there. Overall a perfect stay.

So enjoyed this hotel. From the outside it looked nothing at all, but once inside, it was an oasis of peace and quiet. The rooms were very large, comfortable and stylish, each with their own outside seating area. The restaurant offered an excellent menu with fine wines and excellent service.
