Even though we aren't religious it was still a nice time visiting this church and we didn't realize until after entering that Pope Francis spoke here many times. It's a beautiful church and well worth a quick visit.

Its a great building, with beautiful works of art. Worth going to, great experience, we heard mass and it was a great sermon. Very recommended. Very near casa rosada

We arrived in the middle of a mass in this beautiful cathedral - mostly designed in neo-classical style. The mosaic floors are impressive, and the interior is tasteful and not too flamboyant. The singing of the cantor was stunning and we just sat and listened for a while. nobody minds you going in and out during the mass, and we even took some photos without being too obvious about it. Nice to be in the place where Pope Francis used to serve as bishop before he was made Pope.

This cathedral is located across from the Pink House. The exterior of the building looks like a grand Greek or Roman temple. The interior is more like a traditional Catholic church. Jose de San Martin is buried here, but when we visited, the area with his tomb was closed for repairs.

While the exterior is very different, the inside is a very good example of a traditional Catholic church and it is beautifully decorated. Admission is free.
