Almost 20 years ago my newly wedded Husband carried me into one of the rooms at Zomerlust guesthouse. This weekend we had the privilege to revisit the same place, same room and was not disappointed. Friendly service, excellent food and pristine facilities was the usual treatment. Highly recommend it for a special stopover or celebration. Lovely garden a little depleted due to Western Cape drought and water restrictions but still enchanting.

The service received from the staff was absolutely wonderful. Every query or request was addressed with speed and such friendliness. The food was beyond divine! The room and bathroom had a charming vintage feel, in keeping with the history of the guesthouse. It was delightful to sit in the back garden after a lovely breakfast and watch the guinea fowl and squirrels.

Room Tip: If you don't do stairs well, be sure to get a room that is not on the top floor.

I recently stayed at Zomerlust, my second time. As a guesthouse, the owners know a thing or two about hospitality. Extremely welcoming, the room most spacious. The back garden is a tiny haven of peace. The chef went to endless trouble to accommodate my dietary requirements. A celiac's heaven, and that is rare in SA. Most appreciated.

I stayed at Zomerlust Guesthouse last week on business with a party of 6 international guests. We were so well looked after by all the staff at Zomerlust during the day while we had meetings/snacks/lunch. The chef went out of his way to accomodate the different dietary requirements. Thank you so much. The rooms are good and spacious. My only comment there would be that the plug points for kettle or hairdryer are a little awkward. Perhaps plug points near a desk or table would be useful?

I stayed one week over there for business and If I could, I'll choose another hotel next time.

Old room, bath..., bad matress, bad heater, bad breadfast... The sample is thr key of my room, almost broken where I needed two minutes to open it

Just it was ok the location in my case......

Dear riojanaporelmundo, I'm sorry to see that your experience at Zomerlust was not what you expected. While we try to highlight and celebrate our history (the property dates back to 1792), it is unacceptable that your experience did not live up to your expectations, and I apologize profusely for it, while sharing your review with our staff and management. Best regards, Jeroen
