This is an outstanding family owned and managed retreat that will please anyone who seeks rest and relaxation on a glamping idea on the banks of the river. All the staff were very proud of their food that is mostly grown on the property and dinners were exceptional. The Duke Gin - our new favourite - distilled on the farm from litchees, was our great find and overall the tented accomodation is satisfying if you do not mind not having tv or cellphone reception in your room We loved the absolute quiteness as well as very good spa facilities and will return as this area has a lot to do and see

Room tip: Choose a tent futher away from reception for more privacy

We had a one night stop over here on our way to Krueger National Park. The lodge is in a beautiful setting on a river. The little set of rapids right in back of the tents makes for very pleasant sleeping. The tents were not big and no way luxurious but very serviceable. The toilet, shower and bath tub are outside on a veranda overlooking the river. They do have a heating system to heat the outside area in case it’s cold, which it was when we were there. We never did get the WiFi in the rooms to work. They do have a lovely restaurant. Unfortunately for us we didn’t have a very good dinner. Orders were wrong, wrong people served wrong food and some dishes were just not good. The chef came out several times to talk to us. And was very gracious about listening to our dislikes. Now the breakfast was outstanding. A nice variety of choices. And great cappuccinos. Maybe if we had time to do the spa, I could give this a higher rating. This was my husband’s and my 6th safari so we’ve been in a lot of lodges. So, I guess my point of view is different.

My feeling. Not a five star place at all. No wi-fi reception in tents and no tv's in tents. Footpaths very dark at night. Generally your Rose Retreat & Spa and cafe needs attention and more detail to all that you offered. Would like to give you more info that you can address on your email.
