This is a bigger lodge than I expected and therefore perfect for families. Good accommodation, a pool, a bar and restaurant and good food with great selection of choices. They organise safaris and are art of the Cheetah project which is great to see

We spent a night here in early December 2016 and regret not having booked for longer. We got to interact with the cheetahs, boy do they purr!!
Our rondavel was lovely as was the whole camp. Food was lovely but our choice was limited because there were only 5 guests there that night. Spent a relaxing hour or two sitting round the fire pit and having a drink. Will we be back? Oh yes!

Emdoneni is a magical and unique place to stay. After 4 nights in Cape Town, it was wonderful to find ourselves surrounded by nature. We loved our little rondavel and the whole layout of the lodge. The dinner buffet was nice and we were even serenaded by the wait staff. Afterwards, we sat around a fire pit and spoke with the other guests while listening to the sounds of the night. Best of all was our morning tour of the cat sanctuary. Our guide, Maxwell, made sure we had a meaningful and educational experience. It was thrilling to observe and interact with these magnificent creatures. The lodge is committed to rehabilitating and returning them to the wild where feasible. I was so moved that I ended up "adopting" one of their charges. For a very reasonable donation, guests can support Emdoneni's work and get updates about the cats. I considered it money well spent! I highly recommend a stay at this unique sanctuary.

Thank you for such a wonderful and heart-warming review. We are so happy to learn that you enjoyed all the offerings at Emdoneni Lodge. A big thank you for adopting one of our cats and for supporting the cat project that is so dear to our hearts. Until we meet again.

We stayed here for two nights as part of our SmarTours tour of South Africa. It was our favorite stop. The staff came out of the kitchen after dinner and sang traditional African songs. Also on the property is a Wild Cat Rehabilitation Center and Cheeta Project. There is an extra fee to tour the cat project, but we were able to pet African Wild Cats and Cheetahs as well as interact with other cats. Our first game drive was from this lodge and our driver JJ was excellent.
