We stayed in one of their large suites with a balcony and it was incredible. the Views were absolutely breathtaking and the service was definitely one of four season excellence. Highly recommend using the concierge to plan activities as the area has a lot to offer. Also found the value of this hotel to be great compared to other four seasons which are much pricier.

I stayed in one of the most spacious, classy suites with a large balcony and super-large bathroom for my 2-night stay. Reminded me of being in a European village with it's small cobbled streets weaving around the complex and beautiful views. Check-in, together with limousine service, and food and wine was excellent. Would definitely recommend to other travellers.

One of the best hotel stays we've experienced. Staff went out of their way to cater for the birthday celebrations as well as attending to all the special requests. Service levels and attention to detail were simply amazing!

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of April. The hotel is beautiful and the spa and gym lovely. Unfortunately both myself and my colleague got quite extreme food poisoning from dinner at flames restaurant. We ate different things so can only assume the hygiene in the kitchen isn’t great and that we picked up bacteria from dirty veggies or plates. This resulted in a very distressing night spent on the bathroom floor. Thankfully they have great bathrooms. My room was also not cleaned on one of the days which makes me suspect there’s a lack of process or discipline across the hotel.

It’s a shame as it’s a beautiful property but we couldn’t stay here again due to the hygiene issues.

Dear Ruth R,

We are very sorry that you and your friend felt unwell while in Johannesburg. At Four Seasons, we take all matters of safety extremely seriously, and any concern reported is systematically investigated in depth. As you know we shared with you during your stay that, as per procedure, a detailed investigation took place. It concluded that not only nobody other than you and your friend, amongst the several hundred meals served during your stay, reported being unwell. The comprehensive biological investigation also did not reveal any contamination in any samples, including the very same products which were served to you and your friend., and a dozen other people. Since only the two of you felt unwell, it is very probable, (although there is no way to be absolutely certain) that you suffered what is commonly refered to as "travel sickness", deriving most of the time from viral transmissions which are either airborne or passed on by touch during ones travels. Between airplanes, airports, public transports and public areas frequented over several days it is often impossible to determine a precise source unfortunately. Once again we are very sorry for the discomfort you experienced during this trip.
Concerning the twice daily servicing of your room which we provide as a standard, on one occasion a do not disturb sign on your door was observed, in order to respect your requested privacy. We also note that you preferred not "opt out" of our green water conservation program by requesting for all your linens to be changed every day. There is an option for this offered to all of our guests and we regret if the note to this effect at your bedside may not have been obviously placed. If so please accept our most sincere apologies.
On a final note, we were pleased to read that you found the hotel beautiful and enjoyed the spa and the gym. We continually thrive for excellence in service and thank you for your feed back. Please do not hesitate to contact me on the occasion of a future visit to Johannesburg, we wish to ensure that your next stay will be in keeping with your expectations.

Sincerely yours,

Sebastien CARRE
General manager

nice hotel but not your typical four seasons due to a weird layout. Used to be apartments or condos. I prefer staying closer to Rosebank or Sandton so you can walk to the mall and restaurants. Restaurants here are good.
