The hotel is right in the heart of Tamarindo town and beach. It's a decent hotel and is in a good location for sure. It is split by the main road which can be a bit of a pain but it's not that big of a deal. The pools are nice and I took advantage of the swim up bar in the big pool. Drink prices are a little steep. The rooms were ok. We ran out of water on several occasions and the shower and toilet didn't work for awhile. We figured out that if you wait an hour or so it will come back. Some times we got only hot water in the showers. We didn't call anybody and weren't too worried about it. The only service issue we had was a maid that kicked us out of the room at 9am one day when we were especially tired. I think she was new. She insisted that we had to leave so we went and killed some time then came back. Other reviews mentioned that the front desk staff never smiled and really wasn't all that friendly. I noticed the same thing and found it quite amusing. The tour guys were super friendly and helpful as was just about everybody else. The breakfast is just fine, no complaints. All in all, I would stay there again.

Room tip: I stayed by the main pool and not by the beach. It was just fine and very quiet.

It's a good hotel, great beach, nice staff, excellent breakfast, safe. However its way overpriced. Its catered to western tourists. We got to know the area during our stay and If I knew it ahead of time I would find a very good hotel for half of the money

This is a must stay hotel. Everything you want or need is there. The staff is awesome, Mario, Jose, Estefa in the bar, the tour desk, front desk, housekeeping and just everyone. Can't give enough stars. Hope to come back

Room tip: Go for the third floor, great ocean views. Adult side very quiet, but great pool over there. August was off season so had place to ourselves

This is an outstanding 5-star beach resort, obviously catering to western guests with corresponding hotel expectations. Rooms are simply exceptional with wide balconies - mine overlooked one of the four swimming pools. Excellent Wifi signal thruout the property and in the rooms. Air conditioning and ceiling fans keep everyone cool and comfortable. The restaurant, bar and main "action" places are all located on the beach front side of the road. Remainder of the hotel is across the main road and is spread out over a large area. If you want one of the better rooms, insist on being on the actual beach front. Bathroom shower is large with fantastic water pressure. Bed sheets have very high cotton count and feel like silk on your skin. Television has a large selection of channels, many of which are in English.

Room tip: Make sure you get a room on the beach front side, unless you like dodging heavy traffic every time you cross the road!

The hotel does allow you to use the hotel pools and sun lounges on the beach side of the property (the property is split into two with a newer section over the road). HOWEVER you need to pay $40 each for use of the sun lounges and the pool but you must supply your own towels, additionally you do get to use $20 of the $40 paid to use against food and drink within the hotel bar / restaurant, if you do not use the $20 the day of arrival you cannot redeem the following day should you return for another day use.

BE AWARE - the trees by the first pool you see from reception have a fruit that can sometimes drop to the floor of onto the sunlounges, this fruit stains clothes and is rather smelly, i would recommend you stay on lounges on the grass area and use the pool as needed, that way you don't get bombed by falling fruit!
