Positives: Great views of the volcano from the full window room. Good size rooms. Isolated, green and well maintained gardens. Walking distance to the national park and free hot water springs. Air conditioning in the room. Rooms and linen were clean. Very friendly staff - only the female reception staff though. I had an incident of a lost passport in a restaurant and Juliana at the reception was exceptionally helpful in getting it back.
Negatives: A few amenities were missing in the room. A bottle of water, glasses and safe was missing. The shower could be turned off only with specialist knowledge, which we were given only on our third day. So had to bear a dripping shower for 2 nights. The WC was defective too and was fixed on the third day only. They have large premises and there is no telephone in the room and the only way to contact reception is WhatsApp, which they are no so good at responding to. Staff not very pro-active or even reactive. Location is far off from La Fortuna town - 9 kms. Access to good restaurants and bars in the evening will be dependent on taxi/Uber if you don’t have a car. They have food but a limited menu. Even short distances can’t be walked at night due to lack of sidewalks and it being a motorway/highway. They are not very flexible with an early breakfast (only as early as 7 am).
Conclusion: A good place to stay amongst nature with great views but be ready for a hit and miss customer service. This is a general observation in CR - the hospitality and hotel prices have increased not in proportion to the customer service/care they offer.

As a family of 6 french people, we spent 2 days there in 3 rooms. Even if it was cloudy and so did not have the luck to see the volcano facing our room in full size; the landscape, the colors and the wildlife were amazing.
Muchachos are friendly and helpful. Breakfast typical or continental is good too. It is possible to have lunch or dinner from fast food to local type that are ok too. I really liked the casados.
Our bedroom were clean and typical, the mattress was ok for me and my wife, not too hard nor too soft.
The problem came from the main road below the accomodations. Due to the lack of soundproofing, it was really noisy. And even if it was quiet between let say midnight and five; the rest of the time, it was really annoying. That is a point they have to improve. For this I give 4 star instead of 5. Another point, tripadvisor says it is a french speaking hotel, but it's not, at least the crew we met. Even if one of them really friendly knew some few words.

We spent three days in three cabins with a family of 8 . Locally owned and operated. Excellent customer service. Spacious, A/C, hot water, towels, best in-room coffee I’ve ever had. Delicious breakfasts- local version of ‘continental’ with amazing fresh fruit and yogurt or the traditional rice and beans, corn tortilla and eggs. The view of the volcano cannot be beat. Clear or misty, it is a mystical experience. Many activities nearby worth very penny - hanging bridges, rafting, and our favorite - natural hot springs. This area is famous for its beef and dairy. You must try a few of the local steakhouses. Don’t think twice. Go local and have a Pura Vida time.

Room tip: Cabins furthest from the main road are a bit less noisy. Make sure you specify if you need ADA access. Two cabins have ramps.

I spoke to Valerie and tried to book a night at this hotel and she wanted to converse through What App. I sent the date and all the information to confirm a booking. She did not reply until later the next day and asked what date I was looking for? She did not even read my message and responded late. We would have stayed here but because of the late response and lack of reading my message, we found a different hotel. Took too much effort to try and book here.
