If you ask me what to rave about Le Meridien Shanghai, - nothing much.
having been to many Starwood properties. Expectations are all there.
Check in.. SPG member. We check in at Lobby despite staying on Executive floor.
Lobby entrance going thru' renovation.. quite an inconvenience and yes, there is a smell as mentioned and lot of dust. Personal dislike- you need to take lift up to lobby (on 10th or 11th floor? ) cannot remember. and change lift again to rooms.
Somewhat similar to W @ Taipei.
Room is nice. Service is all smiles. View is so so.. all concretes outside. no Bund view.
However, there is one thing that I can say. GREAT LOCATION. walk 1 min. you are on Nanjing road ( a shopping street with no car traffics and lots of shops.)
executive lounge on 44th floor is good. Cocktail hours can be your dinner as quite a lot of food is served. Breakfast is full of quality and quantity food... including ice cream!
Gym is nice and the pool is heated. please remember to bring your swim cap. However, they will loan you if you forget.
Will I stay here again... yes. Especially, if I bring my children. ;-)More
