Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful with questions. The location is very good about 1/4 mile from the subway.
There are a few parks near the hotel for a quiet walk.
The breakfast buffet is good but the items were cold.

I would gladly have rated this hotel a 4-5 star except that we had less than cool air-conditioning the 2 nights we stayed. The staff came up to investigate & fix it but it was maybe slightly cooler, not really cold enough to our liking.

The room had a comfortable bed and adequate bathroom facilities

Overall it was a very big and busy hotel. The Concierge was very helpful but almost always had a line of guests waiting.

The buffet had a good variety of both Asian & Western dishes.

However, we have conveyed your comment to our Engineering Department and they will make a thorough check of the air-conditioning / air ventilation system of the hotel rooms. While our guest service manager at extension 84 will be always at your service whether you need a fan to deliver to your room, or you would like to request for a room change, we will help you if the hotel’s occupancy allows.

Recently had 3 days in Shanghai and stayed at the regal. Had a late flight in from Japan and didn’t arrive at the hotel until 2am. Night staff were really helpful in getting me booked in really quickly so I could get some sleep. No problems sleeping room was well laid out and the bed was really comfortable. Waterfall shower was the first call in the morning to help wake up, then down for breakfast. Plenty of food on offer with both western and Asian food available. Room was kept clean and check out was very efficient. WiFi access in both the rooms and reception but Young’s to remember sign in numbers from the room to log into public WiFi on the ground floor which seemed a bit odd.
Didn’t manage to get to the gym but on a quick look it was well appointed and plenty of people were using the facilities.
Will recommend this hotel for anyone staying for business in the Shanghai area.

Regarding the public WIFI log in, guest may use their room to log into WIFI or alternatively use SMS to obtain the wireless internet. However, to ensure our in-room guest to enjoy an expanded bandwidth, we would suggest our in house guest to use the first way. The identification system updates every 24 hours which may cause expiration and may request the guest to sign up again. We apologize for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.

I always look forward to staying at the Regal International East Asia Hotel in Shanghai. The staff is always helpful and courteous. The rooms are very clean and modern with all the conveniences that a traveler needs. The food in the California restaurant is good. There are also many excellent restaurants and shops in close proximity to the hotel.

Room Tip: The pillows are very soft.

I liked this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and modern except for a very grubby carpet and the bathroom was well appointed. It is clearly set up for business travellers with a good desk area and amenities.
With a few small tweaks it would be even better. Cups to match the number of travellers, a good carpet clean and more pillows would be lovely. Wi if was good, bar was nice and the area is great. We didn't sample breakfast, preferring to eat out so I can't comment.

Meanwhile, we apologize for some areas of improvement may cause you any inconvenience during your last visit. Our Housekeeping department has been briefed and they will pay more attention to the cleanliness of our rooms’ facilities specially the carpet. We normally set up 2 cups as a standard set in the room, guest may contact our Housekeeping department at extension 85 if they request extra cups, so as extra pillows. If you like, you may also try our special pillows with healthy treatments, pillow menu is available on the desk and we believe there will be one to suit your preference.
