Beautiful beach. Lots of ppl and lots of watersports. Best is the great market nearby. Ample things to do for everyone. Great restaurants too.

We were there in April towards the end of the season so it was fairly quiet in the day time. There are loads of shacks all offering free use of sun beds and umbrellas. The beach was kept fairly clean there are a few bottle tops around but nothing major. The shacks all offer food and drinks and have a toilet. There were the usual sellers offering their wares bags, fruit massages etc etc etc. We didn't find these too intrusive just a polite no thankyou did the trick.
Calangute is in the middle of this beach, walk right towards Bagga and the beach gets a lot busier with crowds of people , here is where you will find all the water sports . Walk left and this leads you to candolim this seemed busier too. There are life guards present this is a good job as there were crashing waves during our two week stay. Great fun but if you aren't a very strong swimmer be careful as they could be dangerous at times. There can also be a very strong current . There was a lovely sea breeze during our stay which was welcome as it was very hot. There are loads of dogs lazing on the beach but they didn't bother us too much.
As the temperature drops and the sun starts to go down the locals come out to play and the beach comes to life. It got really busy with whole families coming to enjoy the sea and sand. This was my favourite time and if your a people watcher you'll love it too. The locals love a selfie and if you're about they will be asking you to pose with them too.

Love Calangute beach. I keep coming back to it for the vibrance and magic that this beach has. This beach has Baga to the north and Candolim to the south. Sand is white and fine. Like to have calamari and penne in white sauce on the shacks there obviously with some chilled beer. Get to watch IPL during the season. This April 2018 enjoyed the same on the beach. Just love being there in the evenings.

Was there in April 2018. It is one of the clean beaches but not very lively. There are watersports but the shacks and pubs are not huge in number.
Beach is close to a number of hotels and is one of the busiest beaches in North Goa

Its one of the most crowded beaches of goa. Though the sea waves are best here to enjoy. There were broken bottles on the beach. Not very clean beach.
There are many eating joints on the beach to enjoy food with loud music.
A shopping lane is nearby.
