Owner description: This expansive beach is Chennai's most famous tourist attraction, though the undercurrent is too strong for all but the strongest swimmers. Look out for the "Kannagi" statue on Marina Beach, which tells the story of the legendary character from a South Indian epic.

The Marina Beach is a unique beach, worth visiting on counts more than one. Firstly, it boasts of probably the longest coastline , spanning over a vast stretch of the City. Its uniqueness lies in its peculiar Sandy nature, as opposed to the normal mix of water and sand, in many beaches across India and , in fact, entire globe. It encompasses a huge area - which is sometimes close to half a Kilometre from coastline to the mainland, offering in the process an unbelievably vast stretch of space for the visitors and tourist alike for sundry activities of merrymaking and also for the traders and businesspersons alike to undertake a plethora of trading opportunities for the benefit of the customers as well as the entrepreneurs. This in fact provides sort of lifeline to the people of the city , cutting across all strata , especially during the Evening / Night hours.

Marina beach comes in the list of the longest beaches in the world.
Good for morning walks.
This beach is full of local food stalls.
Also just in radius of few meters there is a tallest light house you will find.
Where they allow you to get inside the light house and take you to the top of it with small amount paying for tickets.
Its really worth.

Marina beach is very crowded and dirty.People are not concerned about keeping the enviroment clean.
It is situated near to the main road, so riding on the road is amazing.

I have been going to this place for longer than I can remember. It’s a perfect place to go relax after a days work. Countless times I have lost track of time and perhaps this is what bleaches are meant to do.
