Fero is the only table service restaurant in the otherwise boring and overrated Pizitz Dining Hall. Fero offers indoor and outdoor seating in a very chic environment. Caroline served us and did an excellent job. The menu is not very long yet extremely tasty. Try the pecorino fondutta appetizer, a sort of "Italian fondue”, where you dip your bread in a melted cheese dish. We had the spaghetti and meatballs and rigatoni and both were outstanding, with huge portions. For desert we had the beignets and were not disappointed. Their wine list is rather short but of really high quality, and they offer a full bar. Fero is definitely one of the better dining options in the downtown area!

Decided to come here at the last minute. We ate at the cook bar and chatted with chefs. They even comped us the Brussels sprouts which were crispy and drizzled with honey.
Couple next to us had the meat and cheese board. It looked wonderful and they raved about it. Overall great dining experience.

Another fabulous meal at Fero. I had the pappadews and steak and brussel sprouts. My friend had the beet salad and pasta dish. It was fantastic. Service is always good. Make a reservation. You won’t be disappointed! Super location downtown at pizitz food hall

You need to go to Fero as soon as possible. This upscale Italian dining spot in downtown Birmingham is about to be discovered and it will be packed soon! This was our second visit there and it was much busier than last time. The word is getting out about this great choice for fine dining downtown. It is located in the Pizitz food hall. There is indoor and patio dining available. Parking is free for the first two hours in the nearby deck, or there is optional valet parking as well. Reservations and walk-ins are available, but I recommend the reservation as this venue is gaining in popularity. You will most likely be greeted by the owner, Charles or one of the managers. Everyone there wants to make your dining experience a special one. There is an inventive appetizer selection. The entrees are changed seasonally. The desserts change as well. The pastas are all made in house. If you are dining at the bar, you will find the bartender and social media manager, Tim, to be very knowledgeable about all of the menu items as well as suggesting pairings for the menu selections. This is a perfect place for a special event as an anniversary or birthday or just a night out for a nice dinner. It is not a large venue, and we were able to have a comfortable conversation with the couple that went with us. Put this on your list of dining venues when you are in the downtown area of Birmingham.

We visited for drinks and snacks midday. Craft beer selection was very good. We ordered appetizers and one to go. We had the papas bravas which were delicious. We sat at the bar and were served quickly. There is an adjacent patio that looked lovely, but it was a little cool outside for us to sit there.
