This place is truly a hidden gem in Birmingham, AL! It's a great place to take the family and learn some history.. .It was very, very interesting. Alos, the tickets are not that expensive... Go check it out on a hot, cold, or rainy day...

An enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours. We lucked out and had a nice chat with one of the men who work on the planes (actually, he might be a department of one!) he gave us some interesting information on some of the planes and some of the owners of the smaller planes. We enjoyed being able to sit in a few of them...and seeing how small the cockpit is and how much instrumentation. I appreciated the emphasis they placed on women and people of color in their informational displays. And we enjoyed the theming of some of the displays. One of our party is in the Civil Air Patrol, and he was pleased with the room dedicated to the CAP.

A great choice for an afternoon stroll and a good place to learn about airplanes. Simulators and a Hall of fame with some historic value.

This museum is divided in several sections general aviation, CAP, Alabama hall of fame and military. Also off site two blocks are more airplanes stored exposed to the elements. The exhibits were well documented. It takes about two hours to do a tour.
