I stayed here for over three weeks back in March, found two dead cockroaches in the lobby, the bar and food on the ground floor restaurant were cheap but can't say much about the food. Very good housekeeping. Hotel staff temperament were hit and miss, the manager (petite brunette) who's name I've forgotten (possibly Barbara) was excellent and accommodating as I had to change rooms a few times because of a musty smell, then a faulty AC and lastly no WIFI.
A week into my trip the internet in my room failed, I complained and they called head office, I had to change floors as the whole third floor had no internet.
Location is probably the downfall for this hotel, it's far from Av djalma batista, but not so much from centro. So make sure your commute is short from this hotel or hire a car as taxis in manaus are rather expensive! Since it is the same price as other ibis' I'd now opt for the one on djalma batista.
In terms of languages i believe only the manager spoke decent english, the others tried, so make sure you speak some basic Portuguese, and use a translator for complex phrases.
All in all i was happy with the room, I got what i paid for, however changing rooms 3 times, receptionists' attitude and hotel's location means I'm reluctant to return.
