I do have to preface this with the fact that one in our party was a pharmacist, but this was just such a fun place to see! It's basically like going back in time to see how medicine used to be dispensed and business run. Short tour in a small building, but well worth it!

This is in old town Alexandria and has been preserved like it was when closed for bankruptcy many years ago. Tour for seniors $4 and about 1/2 hour extremely interesting and informative displays well preserved and maintained , tour conducted by volunteers, well worth the time

Amazing family history and evolution of the family business. Very interesting how many medicinal herbs and tinctures are still used today and many that should be.

My girls (14&9) and I happened onto this small museum by chance after picking up the Alexandria magazine and following the recommended walking tour. A tour was just assembling as we came in so we decided to join it ($5 adult, $3 kid). Linda was great and had something interesting for everyone who was on the tour. I really enjoyed learning more about historical medical treatments, medicines, and pill making. The kids enjoyed the Harry Potter references and we all agreed that it was well worth the time and entry cost. Had we read about it in advance I'm certain we would have skipped it, so it was a very fun find.

We stopped here on Monday afternoon and got to do a quick 10-15 min tour ($5 adults, $3 kids 12 and under) of the apothecary store and rooms upstairs. The lady doing tour did a Harry Potter spin to the tour which our teen girls loved. Nice experience and great to see it preserved. It would be neat if they offered an Outlander themed tour ...I could see the nearby Irish restaurants making it a joint venture/event.
