We have just returned from the most amazing honeymoon/baby moon week at Lobigili.
The food was delicious, we especially loved the breakfast, but all three meals were fantastic. So much choice, the breakfast and lunch were buffet style but there was nothing basic about it! There were also live cooking stations that you could order to your table if you wanted eggs Benedict for breakfast or a grilled tuna steak for lunch that was no problem! Then the evening meal was Ala Carte. There was plenty of choice at every meal. We dined once at the food truck and that was one of our favourite meals, the tiger prawns were out of this world!
Patrice, our hostess, made sure every aspect of our holiday was as we’d hoped! The WhatsApp group set up at the start was such a great idea, we could change our itinerary of excursions or advise if we ran out of juice for example so easily!
The all inclusive drinks options are vast, from iced coffees to cocktails and mocktails pretty much anything you fancied was available, if not on the menu the bar team happily created something we fancied!
We stayed in a over water Villa without the pool and we just loved it, we got up early each day to have a coffee on the balcony and watch the sunrise and get an early morning glimpse of some reef sharks or an eagle ray swimming along by our room!
The beaches were lovely, with soft white sand and clear waters.. the only thing we would advise would be to take some sea shoes as when you first enter the sea there was it up and keep all of the beaches and walkways looking clean and tidy!
We did visit the Only Bly underwater restaurant once, we went in the evening and booked the latest sitting at 8.30pm, the setting itself is breathtaking! It is set up so that every table is next to a window so having a meal whilst looking at sharks, lion fish, clown fish and all other variety of sea creatures was amazing! But unfortunately we would of been disappointed if we had paid for this meal, it had felt really rushed, I’m sure if we had booked an earlier sitting it would of been more relaxed but it felt like the team were ready to go with the courses moving along at a fast pace and not the same personal service you seem to receive in the resort. We also felt the food wasn’t as great as it is in the resort either, but overall we are glad we went as it wasn’t to be missed, especially as it was in the all inclusive!
We visited the spa once as part of the all inclusive which was a lovely relaxing experience, the ladies spent plenty of time establishing what treatment would be suitable for each of us and we really enjoyed our visit there!
It would of been nice to have abit of music on around the pool during the day, if you sat close to the bar you could hear it quietly from inside but the music outside only came on at 4.30 when the DJ started, we enjoyed it on the first day then quickly noticed it must of been a playlist as it was the same songs everyday, but it was still nice to have some chilled songs on whilst soaking up the last two hours of sun and for watching the INCREDIBLE sunsets you could see from the pool area.
I feel like I could go on forever about how much we loved this resort! We feel like the value got money was amazing, our favourite thing was the feeling of relaxed, calmness! Even though it was full to capacity the lounges around the pool where never full, you were never on top of one another when walking around of dipping in the sea, and every single person we encountered working there made sure to make you feel like you are the only guest on the island, everyone remembered your names and what you liked/ordered previously, and everyone you walk past always gave a warm cheery smile and hello!
To name a few people who made our holiday extra special in the restaurants there was Krishna, Monica, Ani, Jenny and many others, at the bar there was Divyea, Novea, Sara, Maya, Scothy and so many more absolutely wonderful people in both areas I wish we had noted their names as every person we interacted with played a part in making our stay so special! And of course of our hostess Patrice! Thankyou all SOO much!!
We would recommend Lobigili as it’s such great value for money from arriving so promptly on the speedboat to a saxophonist serenading our arrival, to the never ending choice of drinks and food, to the priceless alone time in a beautiful relaxing setting it was perfect! The only change we would make would be that the decor is slightly of a required taste, with pink towels and blue stripey sunloungers and orange parasols, we felt it would feel more luxury and tranquil if it was more neutral colours, BUT that being said that’s only our personal choice and it definitely didn’t have a negative impact on our holiday!
