What a great way to see Kuala Lumpur! Myself and my girlfriend had a brilliant time with our guide Sun. We were delighted to hear more about the history and the cultures, and Sun was the perfect guide for this.

We always felt comfortable despite cycling through a busy city, but would recommend being comfortable on a bike to take this tour. KL is quite spread out so cycling is a brilliant to get more in. It's also quite cooling in the heat!

We loved seeing the local markets, Kampung Baru and some historical buildings. One little suggestion - we didn't enjoy cycling through the busy market street in Chinatown. There were so many people on the street I felt I spent more time walking my bike and ringing my bell than looking around and enjoying myself. Perhaps the route could be altered slightly to take out this busy market street?

Overall we absolutely loved our time with MikeBikes, it was our favourite activity in Kuala Lumpur. Top marks!

Hi Conal, what a great review! We are honored that you experience a brilliant time during the tour. Cycling through Petaling Street in Chinatown can be incidentally crowded and then it is needed to push the bikes. It is rare that it is crowded at your specific time. Usually we can even cycle on this market street during the Best of Kuala Lumpur Classic! However, MikeBikes thanks you for your remark and will look internal for necessary adjustments. We are pleased that you had a lovely time with Soon and that you are rated it as a favourite activity in Kuala Lumpur.
Thanks again and best regards, Soon and Maurice.

A unique way to see the city and learn about its cultural diversity. As well as the sites you’d expect there are plenty you won’t. I don’t think I would have dared to set foot in the local market on my own because it was so busy - it was an amazing atmosphere and one of the tour highlights! Alvin our guide was superb and all the staff were very friendly and offered lots of advice on other great things to do during my stay. I highly recommend this experience and this very professionally run tour.

Great 2 hour tour of 2 suburbs which we would've never explored otherwise. Two guides who pointed everything out to us and made sure we were safe. Fruit and beverages included, great experience!

Hi Karin,
Thanks a lot for the review! It is safe to cycle on the fixed routes with the guides. This Authentic tour is a very nice one, indeed. You get a good impression of these areas where traditional life is still continuing.
Thank you.

What a great way to see the city. As Mike said, KL is just a big too big to see just by walking around, and a bike is a perfect way to do it.
As an American I found myself surrounded by Dutch folk, but wouldn't have it any other way. Everyone was friendly and the local guides "Andrew" and "Joe" were knowledgeable and friendly. The Dutch and the tour guides spoke english 90% of the time, so I was quite comfortable.

In just a few short hours, you really get a sense of the melting pot aspect of the Malaysian culture - where the locals, Indians, and Chinese all mixed together very well with little to no conflict.

The bikes were solid, but I would say you have to be pretty comfortable and confident on a bike for this tour.

Hi Brian,
Great! Thanks for this review. KL is a perfect town to explore and experience the city by bicycle. As you already mentioned, the guides are friendly and have knowledge of the history and culture of Malaysia. It is discouraged to cycle without guide in town. At this moment it is necessary, because of safety, that there are guides who can lead you through Kuala Lumpur. They know the cycle friendly streets and back alleys and are also experts to connect the heritage on bicycle. There are safe fixed routes for each tour. All tourists have a safe feeling under guidance to see the interesting places from KL within a tour.
You visit interesting places and get a sense of the melting pot of the Malaysian culture. It is exactly how you describe! Thanks a lot!
Regards from Andrew, Joe and Mike.

Hi Rob,
Thank you very much for your review. The Dutch bicycles have roller brakes, a comfortable saddle and wider tires and are reliable. The tourist guides give the tourists enough time to make a photo during the tour. The stops are interesting and the guides will tell the the history about KL. We are proud that MikeBikes works together with these guides who are passionated of cycling and their passion for the city and to guide people in a safe way. The strategy is that the profits will flow back to the locals in different ways! Thanks again for your review!
