Go to the basement and explore their dozens of bottles by the glass. A great experience, and we left 6kg heavier, ladened with bottles of quiet unique sakes.

We were glad that we found this sake shop. Amazing experience tasting 20 yo sake in an underground cellar lined with sake bottles. The staff were friendly, knowledgable and spoke English.

Small sake shop with a basement sake tasting room. Very informative and helpful staff. Delicious sake to sample and snack if needed. Brought delicious sake to bring home.

Small Sake shop out of the main part of Osaka with a tiny underground tasting room. We had a wonderful, priceless experience there. The staff were so lovely and informative - one of the highlights of our trip for sure.

A little tucked away in the small streets of Osaka, this local shop is well worth tracking down. Once inside, you are shown to a cellar filled with Sake bottles of varying quality and size. For one hour, you can try any sake at a rate of 220 Yen per glass (about $2). This includes room temperature or chilled, and most top quality aged sakes to the more garden variety.
With no reservation required, friendly staff who can recommend some good sakes to try and some fantastic photo opportunities, this was a real highlight of my stay in Osaka. Do take your time with the sake though! It's deceptively easy to drink and stronger than your average glass of wine.
