This hotel is only good for two things: proximity to the Kunming railway station and the airport express bus which is just at the doorstep.
Beyond that, this is a faded Chinese hotel with iffy service, old rooms that look like they hadn't changed since 1985. Manage expectations because staff is not well-trained. We asked for an extra bed. When it came, the staff told us no duvet or pillows are provided since "there are already four pillows on the twin beds, please share!" First time I ever encountered an extra bed that was literally that - a mattress on wheels. We sorted it out at the front desk eventually.
On checkout, we asked the bellboy to call for a taxi to the airport. It came. But it couldn't take all our luggage. There was no way we could fit so we said we could not take the taxi. The bellboy got angry at us for refusing the taxi and scolded us. It was no one's fault that the taxi boot was so small and packed with other paraphernalia that it could not fit 3 cabin size suitcases. Nevertheless he was upset, it was unpleasant and we ended up taking the airport express bus which was faster and more comfortable. Needs training in service.More
