Owner description: Discover China's ancient capital on this comprehensive day tour. First, visit Qin Shi Huang's mysterious Terracotta Warriors. Built in 210BC, the purpose of this life-sized army was to protect the Yellow Emperor in the afterlife. Later, return to Xian's city centre and walk on the ancient city wall, the best preserved urban fortification in China. Afterwards discover the exotic Muslim Quarters where you can search for artefacts and spices.

My wife and I travelled to China for the Glories of China Tour . From the moment we arrived at Shanghai airport to the moment we left Beijing 13 days left we had a fantastic time. Our national tour guide Hebe and her team of local guides Melody, Shirley and Mathew and bus drivers were all knowledgeable and extremely helpful. All Hotels were very good and there was always enough food. All of the places mentioned in the itinerary were visited from Shanghai Guilin Yangshou Xian to Beijing and the organisation of the travel between locations was excellent. Highlights for me were maglev train in Shanghai, Terracotta warriors in Xian Great warriors and the Acrobats in Beijing. All of this was organised extremely well by Hebe who's efforts were acknowledged and appreciated by the her family tour group.

We returned from our wonderful tour last week. The tour encompasses Beijing, Xian, Chengdu, Yangtze Cruise, Shanghai and Hong Kong, with visits to The Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors and Pandas. All are amazing.

Our guide William Feng is a complete Super Star. Nothing was too much trouble, everything organised perfectly. He is extremely knowledgeable, amiable, with a wonderful sense of humour. Hotels, tours, dining, our group all expertly and efficiently organised. The local guides were excellent as well, their organisational skills expert.

This holiday was for a 20th Wedding Anniversary and 50th Birthday - and it was a perfect celebration for both.

Would thoroughly recommend this tour, and Wendy Wu.

If you do go, I really hope you get William as your guide !

Thank Neil C

Having just returned from the 15 days Wendy Wu Cities of the Orient Tour, what a fantastic tour this has been. Our wonderful national guide, William Meng, kept us safe and secure throughout the tour and ensure that all our needs were met, whatever they were. William was the perfect guide - always so happy, cheerful and enthusiastic. He excelled in everything - organising our many forms of transport; ensuring our luggage was taken care of; making sure our meals were always ready and of a good quality; checking that we were happy and comfortable with our excellent accommodation and that we had everything we needed. Our local guides for the area tours were always ready and waiting for us at the appointed lace and time and William kept everyone together, even in the busiest of places. William was extremely knowledgeable, informative and very clear with his instructions. He has a wonderful sense of humour and we cannot praise him enough for his kindness, thoughtfulness, consideration, organisational skills and efficiency. William worked extremely hard throughout our tour and we are most grateful to him for the effort he put in to make sure everyone had a great time. Many, many thanks to Wendy Wu tours and to William in particular for giving us so many wonderful experiences and such a memorable visit to China. Certainly a tour to be recommended.
