The best thing about Salalah is its greenery n serenity.Nothing to rush for. Just chill n relax. Mughsail beach is one of the best places of interest. The hills n the sea combination is just mind-blowing.The high waves breaking over cliffs and the blow-holes are a real treat to the eyes.Blow-holes were a unique feature that we experienced for the first time ever.
If you want a relaxing lazy vacation, just head to Salalah.

The beach and its beauty! The re is a place mountain meets the see, the water gushes out from the tunnels in the mountains as is as a fountain. Its amazing! Not too much of rush. The sound of the waves reflect in the mountains.

I am a retired Cruise Ship Destination Lecturer with more than a hundred working cruises before my retirement. One excursion that stands out from the hundreds I have enjoyed was with Ali Suhail ali.almahri4@hotmail.com (ali dot almahri4 at Hotmail dot com) in Sallalah. He was knowledgeable, kind to all in our group, especially helpful to me with my photography and a real ambassador for his country and the best places to visit. I highly recommend Ali for a private shore excursion in Salallah

Salalah is kind of unexpected place in Middle East. It has such variations to blow your mind. As you enter the area, temperature starts dropping from 42 to 21 in few KM drive and landscape changes from desert and barren land to lush green mountains. Other than the places mentioned on this site, I must add few more attractions which are must visit places in and around Salalah:
1. Wadi Darbat
Around 45 or 48 KM from city. Its such a beautiful wadi that you can spend whole day enjoying its beauty.
2. Tawi Attyar Sink Hole
Almost 8 or 9 KM from Wadi Darbat is this natural sink hole. A huge natural hole home to thousands of birds.
3. Ain Tabraq and Ain Udhum
I really don't understand why these have not been included in Salalah Attractions as these two Natural springs have wonderful sight and a beautiful driveway (so far my best driveway) trees covering the road and making it look like a green tunnel. Spring water converting into small waterfalls.. Its simply amazing
