“Great place for beer!”
Review of Crossroads Brewing

Crossroads Brewing
Ranked #2 of 12 Restaurants in Athens
Certificate of Excellence
Cuisines: American
Description: Brew pub has been open for a year or so. They have just today opened their kitchen. We just got back from our first meal and it has been worth the wait. They are using as much local produce and meats as is available. As newly starting the restaurant we were very impress. It is going to get better. Congratulations Crossroads !! It has been worth the wait !!

After having this place on the radar for YEARS, we finally made the trip to Athens for a visit. The inside is nicely done, love the old woodwork and style they have created, very welcoming. We seated ourselves at the bar, and were given a menu promptly. Both hubs (the beer critic) and myself ordered a sampler of the many offerings. The beers were excellent in quality and variety, keep in mind, you try something new, to broaden your taste, and you may get a surprise either way. My favorite was the red ale, hubs, the stout. Food menu is pretty standard bar fare, well-done. Salads and burgers looked awesome, our selections of the special focaccia and the steak sandwich were good ones. Tried a cheeseboard, with sausage, and the cheese was good, bread, mustard, honey all yummy, I found the sausage somewhat lacking. Adding some pickled veggies would round out the selections nicely. Prices were standard for the experience in upstate NY. Bartender was young and efficient, a few more smiles will help her along the way, but all-in -all, a good experience. Worth your time if you enjoy craft beer. Wine also available and select local spirits seems to be a choice also. We will definitely we back, bringing more beer fans next time!

Wonderful brewery with great brew options. Menu is decent and service is varied but always friendly. Great local place to watch sports.

We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised by this place and some of its unusual (for a brew pub) offerings. The Arugula-Date Salad was enormous and filled with fragrant pecans, pieces of smokey bacon, and topped with a generous portion of high-quality blue cheese from nearby Saratoga County. I also had the onion rings which were crisp, hand-cut and nicely sweet.

My boyfriend had the mussels in ale broth, which he deemed excellent and the lobster roll, which turned out to be TWO generously stuffed lobster rolls with a side of fries. The fries, by the way, were divine! Shoestring and properly greasy. This is not a knock - there's nothing worse than dry, mealy fries and these were quite the opposite.

Our waitress, Lindsay, was helpful and friendly. My boyfriend and I remarked that we would not have found anything remotely like this in neighboring tourist trap locations such as Saratoga Springs or Lake George. It pays to venture out into the sleepier towns. Athens and Crossroads Brewing are definitely worth the trip.

Was only in town shortly, but made several trips here. Wings were awesome. The rest of the menu looked very good too, but didn't get a chance to try.

Sampled all of the beers and they were excellent as well. They even had a sour beer on tap that was tasty.

We made reservations for a party of seven, but they gave our table to another party just before we arrived (we were on time!!). They told us it would be at least a half hour wait which was totally unacceptable since we had my 92 year old father-in-law with us. Don't waste your time with this place. Go to the much better French restaurant, Rive Gauche, just a few doors down.
