Aanari is located about an hour and 10 mins from the airport. It’s a pleasant enough hotel, the staff are lovely, very welcoming and can’t do enough for you.

It is however a little rough around the edges. It’s considered ‘beach front’ but isn’t right on the beach. Definitely accessible, as it’s across the road, but you have to cross a fairly busy road to get to the beach. We got the half board rate, but wish we hadn’t, as the food isn’t fantastic, and there are plenty of nice and cheap restaurants in the area, that are walkable. The breakfast in comparison to the dinner is much better. They don’t seem to replenish the dinner enough.

The pool is very small, and not overly child friendly.

We were a little disappointed in our room, as we got a ‘mountain view’ room, that essentially backed on to a building site, and they had nothing else available. The bed was comfortable and the rooms a decent size, but in need of some updating.

The bathroom was average, good size, but a few bits broken and again, just in need of some TLC etc.

My husband and I are very much backpackers, so have stayed in all kinds of places, and were were in Asia, paying £10 a night, this would be more than enough, but as we are paying £150 a night, it feels as if we could have got something nicer. Mauritius is generally expensive, so unless your budget is limitless, in high season, I have the feeling this would be the standard in this price range.

Warm welcome especially by Mila. Very clean and comfortable place compared to many I've been to. Room amazingly luxurious and classy with teak furniture. Amazing Mauritian buffet served. Wish I could spend another 2 days there. Price very affordable. My next destination hotel.

We was not staying in this hotel, but come almost every day to a Hotel's Bar.
And the reason of that - fantastic coctails which were prepared by barmen Akash.
His Pina-Colada is the best in whole Mauritius!!!
And he is very professional and nice person!
Very recommend.
