Owner description: Thuan Tinh Island is a small isolated island, around 3.5 km far from Hoi An Ancient Town, on Thu Bon River. Thuan Tinh Island is an eco-friendly island rich in tropical foliage making it a beautiful place to cook, relax and then enjoy the dishes you've created, Thuan Tinh Island Cooking Tour. We organize daily cooking classes at Thuan Tinh Island: pick-up at the hotels in Hoi An area. You will make your first stop at the market to purchase some fresh and locally grown herbs, before joining a river boat ride in 30 minutes to Thuan Tinh for a relaxing meander through what has been officially recognised as an ecological zone. To visit the local Village, we take a row boat ride through the water coconut trees. We then walk through the gardens to visit a local family and snack on grilled rice cakes and iced tea. From there, we head back to our open-air cooking class overlooking the water coconut trees and river. Our chefs will show you how to make Vietnamese food while you enjoy the cool breeze and peaceful setting. That is much more than simply a cooking class as a journey to discover the eco island that makes you satisfied.

Pick up at our hotel and then off to the market to buy the ingredients for our meals. We made fresh spring rolls, banh xeo, bun bo nam bo and pho bo! Trinh our guide was very funny and very nice which made our cooking class lots of fun. After the market, we set off for a 40min motor boat ride to the island. Once we arrive at the island we embark on a little row boat into the coconut trees. The cooking class is outside, which makes the experience even more special! Our chef Thi is very good at her job. We enjoyed our cooking class and we recommend this tour!

We had a fantastic day cooking with Chef Hon. Each dish was demonstrated and then we made them ourselves, all of the food was delicious. We were given the recipes at the end so we can now make them at home. Would definitely recommend doing this cooking tour.

Worth every penny, this is a great cooking tour. The trip to the market to buy the ingredients is definitely an experience, and the boat ride to the island is lovely. Then on to the cooking... a great class and they really catered to me as a vegetarian. All recipes were tailored and the food was so good & there was so much of it! The tour guide was great too. All in all, very highly recommended!

The half day consisted of a bus to the central market where you're shown around and your guide buys the ingredients for the day. Then it's a boat - bus - smaller boat trip to the island cooking kitchen.

I had alot of fun, and would definitely recommend thaun tinh cooking tour out of the probably many available in hoi an.

We did a morning cooking class with Chef Hon and had a fantastic time.

We were picked up in a taxi at our hotel in the morning and drove to the market where we met the rest of our class group.

Hon led us through the market as he purchased the produce for the dishes to be prepared later. He seemed to have a good eye for assessing the produce and ensuring everything was fresh.

We then took a boat ride along the river (the cool air was much needed as the market is thronged and hot!) before reaching the cooking school.

Everyone had their own station set up to prepare the dishes and correctly portioned ingredients were set up for each dish.

Hon demonstrated each dish for the group before we went back to our stations to prepare them ourselves, with staff on hand to help us or remind us of measurements.

We prepared four dishes - spring rolls, crispy pancake, beef noodle salad and pho. All ended up being really delicious and surprisingly not too difficult to prepare ourselves.

Overall a great morning. Tour time was pickup at 08.30 and back at our hotel for about 13.30 (you could get dropped off in town too).
