Tree Roots Retreat is one of the most serene places I've been to.
The retreat is entirely the vision of its owner and manager, Aaron, and it is clear from everything down to the smallest details that he wants his guests to have as relaxing and enjoyable time at his retreat as possible.
Placed within walking distance from the beach, you are away from the worst of the local Thai weekend noise, and you feel entirely at peace. Opening up the sliding door in the morning and looking out into the garden with the pool is just magical.
I don't exercise much, so I didn't use the dojo or the fully equipped gym, but I did spend much of my time in the small coffee shop next to the library, which has an amazing collection of books!
The rooms are amazing, with unique pieces of art in each room. The bed is immensely comfortable, so a good sleep is guaranteed :)
And the rain shower bathrooms are huge and fitted with massive pieces of wood - in general, the wood is a recurring theme throughout the retreat (hence: Tree Roots Retreat).
We had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay – so much, in fact, that we‘re going again next month :)
