A true paradise island

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 6 Feb 2019via mobile
The island is quiet, there is no nightlife and no busy streets, no shops and the power turns of from 11am-5pm.

You can take the hotels own kayak and explore the little island close to Ko Lon. Which also is a beautiful little place.

If you are looking to escape busy Phuket and the tourists, this is your place to go!

My partner and I stayed in the resort for 4 nights.

The bungalow was absolutely amazing our bed had a mosquito net around it so we were pretty save from any kind of bugs

We had an outside bathroom what was really nice too and clean.
The toilet seat was a little old and loose but totally okay.

The staff is kind and lovely, however a little bit slow, but you get a hang of it, as the island itself is very relaxing and you too get slower in everything.

The only thing that annoyed us a little bit is if you go into the restaurant and order you food, one of you gets it at least 5-10 minutes later than the other one.
The food was moderate and the cocktails were nice.

And one thing was a little bit annoying too, we arrived on a Friday which seems to be a very religious day as we heard the muezzin „singing“ at least 4-5 times a day, one of it being at 5:20am for 15 minutes straight.
But after that, we never heard anything again.

I would totally visit that island again, as it is really quiet with only a few people on it.

Lone Island is a pretty spot that is away from the buzz of Phuket. If you are after a very simple quiet stay this is perfect. The facilities are a bit worn and the staff are okay. The room was not quite what we expected but I think we had the photos of the bungalows in mind but booked something different. The bungalows look nice.

Baan Mai is located on an isolated island, 15 min by long tailed boat. This place is really stunning due to the wild nature in the background and the beach just in front of your bungalow ! Lucky us that there was no tumult/ party to just calm down and enjoy pure silence in front of the sea!! We were welcomed so warmly by the lady and our room completely fulfilled our expectation : a very nice bed with a canopy and a bathroom within the nature. Taking a shower, hearing the hornbills in the morning, feeling the air and the sun ray on your skin, what else ?

If you want to avoid “party noisy pukhet”, I strongly recommend Ko Lon to really re-charge your battery and find peace in your soul!

PS: you are in Thailand, in such a gorgeous, ethnic colorful, tasteful, cultural country ! Just make the best of it !

We had a Greta night here after we paddleboarded across from Phuket.

We hadn’t planned to stay, paddled to the island and decided to have a night on the beach.

Rooms are basic but the view and setting is fantastic, if you want quite and remote this is the place.

Food was 10/10 and staff were very accommodating.

It was a lovely little island and we had a great time. The food was delicious and the staff was super nice. We had the chance to make our own hat out of banana leafs, that was really nice. We will recommend this island to our friends and would love to come back to baan mai.
Thank you so much for the nice stay!

We stopped unexpectedly at this lovely resort due to our boat breaking down, and the lovely bar staff gave us a few drinks for free (we didn’t have any money with us!) to look after us while it was repaired. This was a lovely generosity, and the manager insisted that the drinks were complimentary, despite my attempts to pay later on. Seems like a kind, simple, beautiful place..
