I have been to Songota lodge before but it was my girlfriend first time there and both we had great time. We got picked up from Kilimanjaro Airport by Mama Ray's son (Ray) and he took us to the lodge. Our room was great and just what we want and my girlfriend was happy and i was happy. Our room was also clean and bathroom was very clean. Our host mama Ray made sure we felt like this was our home away from home. The home cook meal was so good and a lot of food. Seating outside our room was so nice and felt so peaceful and fresh air. We watched the sky change color and sun set and you can see the villages from far away since the lodge is up the hill. Excellent place and excellent host and her son Ray. We went to Arusha town and also we went to the water falls. Our stay was just for two days but it was wonderful and we are looking forward to return again soon.
By the way the dining room is outside with priceless view. Thank you Mama Ray and Ray for hosting us.
Thanks for your comment we really I appreciate for choosing Songota Falls Lodge
It was my first time to travel to Tanzania and there's nothing I can complain for. We stayed at Songota Falls Lodge for 3days and it was the best. The view alone was very relaxing and the surroundings was just extraordinary. I enjoyed Mama Ray (Joyce) healthy and delicious homefood and the service was overwhelming. I appreciated Mama Ray's effort and if I would travel to Tanzania again, I will surely stay there for a little longer. I highly recommend Songota Falls Lodge, you won't regret it😉..
It was my third visit in Arusha and always spent time in Songota Falls Lodge. The place is very nice, clean, have a wonderful view. Joyce, Ray and the staff are very nice and always ready for the costumers. The food was very delicious and the fridge is always full with good beer. :)
Thanks for staying Songota Falls Lodge we really appreciate to having you, and we hope you can come next time
This is an amazing place to stay in Arusha! So relaxing, so natural just loved it :)
“Joyce was such a friendly person & an extremely welcoming host, she went over & above to help us when our luggage was lost & also making contact with our car hire company to sort out all of our arrangements. The lodge has wonderful views, with the occasional monkey or Bush Baby passing by :) Great home cooking with a very personal touch, as soon as Joyce knew we loved home cooked French fries she would rustle them up for us to enjoy with an ice cold beer. There's certain places where you travel on this earth where your host just gets it, this is one of them, Joyce is a complete gem and such a lovely genuine person, even upon our departure we shouted we'll put a review on trip advisor she punched the air and sprung into a wonderful African dance, GO Joyce! Her son Raymond is always on hand to get you from A to B should you need it and always keeps a quiet ear to the ground if he suspects you need help with anything a really nice guy ! I have to say we had such a wonderful experience at Songota falls we could not have asked for anymore and would highly recommend this wonderful lodge, thank you so much Joyce & the team, as Joyce would often say "This is home" I also loved the relaxer chairs, wonderful! wishing you all the very best, Karen & Tim”
A friend and I stayed at the Songota Falls Lodge for three nights in June 2019, sharing a comfortably appointed and cosy 'rondavel' (hut), with en suite toilet and shower (with hot water at all times). Our beds were most comfortable and wi-fi connectivity in the rondavel was generally very good. This is not a budget option but we felt that the lodge offered reasonably good value for money, given that decent accommodation in and around Arusha is surprisingly expensive.
The sloping grounds are absolutely delightful, with lovely trees (including banana) and flowering bushes. The views of the surrounding countryside (so lush and green) are really superb. We were so glad to be in such a peaceful and secluded location on the lower slopes of Mount Meru, far from the hustle and bustle of Arusha (which can be reached by car in 15 minutes or so). As other reviewers have commented, the 2.5 km unpaved road from the Arusha to Moshi highway to the lodge is rough in parts, so be prepared for a bumpy ride!
What makes this place so special, in my view, is the warm hospitality and spontaneous kindness of the owner, Joyce, who bends over backwards to make her guests feel at home and takes a genuine interest in how they are spending their time in and around Arusha. She is an accomplished cook and we enjoyed the tasty meals she prepared, especially the her soups. A more than adequate breakfast is included in the nightly rate. Drinks (both soft and alcoholic) may be purchased and tea and coffee is on offer free of charge. I was most grateful to Joyce for having purchased on my behalf a ticket for the shuttle minibus to Nairobi. I also enjoyed meeting Joyce's charming son, Raymond, who is a talented artist. He is available to ferry guests around the area at a very reasonable rate. We also went on two short walks from the lodge, accompanied by the Maasai guard. There is a good view of the summit of Mount Meru (cloud cover permitting) from outside the main gate.
All in all, my experience of staying at the Songota Falls Lodge was first rate and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again should I ever find myself in Arusha again.
thank you for your comment We welcome you again for another time, We also ask you to introduce us to other friends, Thank you God bless you
