It is a beautiful calm Natural place. We love to visit this lodge quite often in the year.

This year, the front desk afternoon staff was not a friendly person,

The Waiters and waitresses were superb, the room very nice but hot air inside.

Quality of Food has depleted. Most of the time we visited the restaurant was never well stocked with food items. Most of the items on the menu were out of stock be it chicken or beef. The Currys were full of tomato paste and spice with too much salt etc. But we believe there is always room to improve.

Nice birds and animals. Clean and tidy environment.

Room tip: option of AC

Dear Sir and Madam

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.

I am pleased to read that you found the place was clean & tidy, the environment beautiful & calm, the room very nice and the waiters superb.

I am so sorry to hear that you were unhappy with our receptionist. I have spoken to the receptionist and he mentioned that you were unhappy when he asked to see your passport during check-in. You are absolutely right, a national identification card (NIDA) is more than sufficient. Please accept my deepest apologies on his behalf. He normally deals with travelers from overseas and they normally have a passport not a NIDA card. I am so sorry about this, we will better educated our receptionist to request a passport or NIDA card.

I am also sorry to read that you did not enjoy your meal. I believe you have eaten at the lodge many times and keep returning, I assume that we are not always bad otherwise you would not return often. I would just like to point out that we did not change you for your meal.

Beautiful hotel within a little jungle/ garden, with amazing staff. Some neighbors (monkeys) coming to greet you in the morning.
Clean property and art-deco interior.
It is about 30mins from city center. I came here to relax after Climb of Kilimanjaro.

Nice cozy lodge, convenient location, friendly staff and the most important feature: big african animals like antelopes, zebra, wild asses and a lot of monkeys right in front of the huts and restaurant. Nature immersion. I would say, here is the best value for money!

This is a perfect place! Beautiful and so calm, surrounded by nature. We appreciated every bit of it from sunrise to sunset. We could observe monkeys groups behavior much better then latter on safaris, because at different moments of the day and without them paying much attention to us. The walk to nearby forest, village and school was very interesting and we got first hand answers to all our questions about local culture and everyday life. The day we come back this will certainly be the first place to book.

Room tip: All bungalows seems nicely located.

Dear Jowita, we are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you so much for taking the time to post your uplifting review. Great to hear that you embarked on a cultural walking tour around and about, and that you found it to be informative and worthwhile. We sincerely hope to welcome you back to the Lodge again some day. You'll be pleased to know that the Colobus, Sykes and Vervet monkeys can still be seen at play in the tree canopy, the water buffalo are still wallowing happily in the small dam, and the calls of prolific birdlife can still be heard throughout the property. Wishing you well, and thanks again, from the team at Mount Meru Game Lodge.

We were the first guests they had hosted since the Covid lockdown and they went out of their way to make us feel safe and welcome. Alcohol gel and temperature checks on arrival, handwashing stations scattered about the premises and all staff keeping a safe distance from us while maintaining their friendly and helpful disposition.
Great service, brilliant food and considering we were not in the safari park, a large variety of wild life visible. Not every day you can have breakfast accompanied by water buffalo, zebras, ostriches and monkeys.
