Dating back to 1894, Four Points by Sheraton Arusha is one of the oldest hotels in East Africa and steeped in history. Situated next to the Clock tower that is supposedly a midpoint between Cairo and Capetown, makes it an experience in itself. I would call it a jewel of this quaint town Arusha in the foot hills of Mt Meru. The location is in the heart of the bustling city. Facilities include an inviting outdoor pool set within the gardens, a gym and massage room. The terrace of the Parachichi Restaurant overlooks the gardens and is a tranquil spot to dine. You can take a book there and find ample corners to create a perfect ambience for a lazy day. The chefs do an amazing job with the food. Some of the best available desserts in town. The rooms overlook city as well as lush gardens with 100 plus years old trees. A walk around the hotel is like a tour of history. The picture frames around the public areas speak of the history and how gracefully this hotel has aged, yet gives you all the comforts of modern facilities. Very clean hotel with tasteful ambience.

Room tip: 1 hour drive from Kilimanjaro international airport. 2 hours away from most game parks. Stop over on the way to safari for a night or lunch

My husband and I enjoyed the trip of a lifetime to Tanzania in August 2021. We started with a 2 night stay in Arusha at the Four Points by Sheraton. We arrived at about 9:30am and were able to immediately go to our room. We had breakfast and then settled in to just nap and explore the grounds. It was good to have a day to relax and settle into local time. The 2nd day, we explored Arusha with our Safari guide, including some shopping and lunch. We left on the 3rd day for our safari destinations. This hotel is beautiful, with an interesting history (relics from WWII and beyond are viewable in the lobby areas). The grounds include beautiful garden areas, a nice pool, and workout area. The staff is terrific and very attentive and friendly. We ate all meals (except one lunch) at the hotel and were very happy with the quality and variety.

We are giving this hotel a 3 because of communication-overall it was a good one night stay. We checked in late and grabbed dinner in the dining room. Tasty but $$. Our problem was in the morning. We had early pick-up and were trying to organize our luggage after coming from jungle trekking in Rwanda, shower, dress etc. we called for room service menu for breakfast not once, not twice but 3 times even calling reception. Each time we were told menu was coming…. We finally gave up as we knew there was not enough time to order and wait for it to be delivered. We went to the dining room and there was a buffet! Perhaps that was why we had been ignored?? Why didn’t they tell us when we asked for breakfast menus rather then just blow us off. Maybe they could have told us at check in….

The Four Points by Sheraton Arusha is a beautiful hotel located in the center of Arusha within walking distance of the local markets, Tanzanite Experience, and restaurants. The staff is very competent and caring. In fact, one traveler in our group was sick and the staff traveled to a local pharmacy to obtain medicine for her. Food was outstanding as well. Very safe premises.

I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel earlier this month - if was after a Thomson trek on Mt. Kilimanjaro.

The hotel has the most amazing and attentive staff - yes, all of the staff: receptionists, housekeeping, restaurant, and groundskeeper.

From helping me find some coins for my granddaughters, extra linens for the bed, and the superb service in the restaurant. Even the gardener took some of his time to describe the plants on the hotel grounds.

The staff is so professional and polite.

I would highly recommend this hotel.
